For some, yes, for others, no. It's all a matter of taste and "da brain." I mean I, for one, am definetely sticking with the piano, because it is my love, but I would like to try other instruments so that when I really start composing, I can understand what each instrument is playing.

And it's fun.
I definitely agree. ^_^ . Piano's the only instrument I can play but I'd love to learn other instruments as well. It's fun to know how to play many other instruments but it's nice to be really good at one.

I play bass guitar. Why play two instruments when you can play one? Hell. Why play more than one instrument at all? =P
You can't do the E minor Penatonic Sclae on a bass. Suck a sexy scale....
what the heck are you talking about, you just bring the E string down a semi-tone and you can play in Eminor

let's see, I played the violin when I was 11, a few years later when I was 14 I change for a guitar. I have a Yamaha half-cut semi-electric clasical guitar.
I've been playing guitar for a bit more then 10 years
I'd like to teach it to beginers though.
when I was 15 I learned the majority of Stairway to Heaven and still know it by heart. I've played Time of your life, Street Spirits,(which I also sing with) um, I've learned the major hyme to Jesu, joy of man's desiring. I arpegio, I strum, I don't use a pick, my nails do good enough of a job.
I want to learn the song Nadjejda by George Moustaki (typo?)
if anyone has the chords sturcture for it or the tabs, I would greatly apreaciate it

Used to play violin and piano, but I quit because 1) I'm lazy and didn't wanna practice and 2) I wanted to concentrate more on art. Occasionally, though, I'll pick up my violin and play a few things.

I play both acoustic and electric guitar.
I can play bass but its not my favorite thing to do...
I also know how pianos work, i know where each note is and can play little melodies but i'm self thought on that....
learning violin or recorder is one of those things I look forward to.
In a rock band, there is you and the guitarist, the singer and the drummer (and occasionally multiples of each one).
You forgot the cow bell. MORE COW BELL!

And...for your random information...most musicians in bands are at least proficient with every other instrument in the band. Guitarists can drum. Drummers can play guitar. They can all sorta carry a tune. When trying to write a song, it's much more convenient to show what you mean rather than "Uh, ya know, that part should go more dumdedumdum".

I don't play anything. Anymore.

I play guitar, bass, some drums, some keyboards, and saxophone.
I prefer guitar and bass because I learned guitar and bass before drums and keyboards, so they're easiest for me to perform on. I don't really like playing sax.

Played piano for 6 years. Violin for 2 (required in school). Guitar for awhile. Still have the guitar, just never play it.

And as of now, I don't play anything.

I played Piano for 6 years, Viola for 2 (required for school)

I'd like to play viola or some other string instrument again, but I'd have to buy it myself.

Confused Mine somewhat resembles Fallen's.

I play rhythm electric guitar. I've been trying a bit of base but I think guitar will always be my main instrument.

Wrong thread. This is if you play an instrument, not if you like hip-hop.
