My family's having a cookout for lunch, but I think everybody forgot to get fireworks! It used to be to a really big holiday for my family whenever we were younger, but now that we're all grown up it just doesn't have a very high spot on the prioriety list any more.
I'd really like to go over to Vincennes, IN and see the fireworks over the river. When I was a little girl, mom would take us over there to see the fireworks over the Wabash. The view never failed to be gorgeous and the reflection over the water just added to the magic of the night.
My brother's in Miami vacationing w/his girlfriend...I wonder what they'll do today? Probably, drink, but I'd like to fireworks in a larger city like that...heard it's nice, but I've never been. |

You know what I love? In Wyoming every possible firework is quite legal, and you can set 'em off for a week before and after the forth of July. My brother's friend bought over 1400 bottle rockets, made a mortar, and we launched almost all of 'em, not to mention a couple of artillery shells and Roman Candles.
Oooh yeah. 8)
I'm not real big on the holiday because if we want to be REALLY accurate, the 4th is not technically when America became a "country." _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

My friend said 13 big fireworks went off at the same time. I have to ask him if anyone died. They probably did. _________________ The mind is its own place, and in itself

I dunno, people shoot off Roman Candles a lot, it seems.
Of course, the police up here are kind of apathetic, so it's quite possible they're not supposed to but they get away with it anyway. _________________

well this 4th of july sucked.
1. The fireworks were canceled after rain fell from the skies. There was enough to flood all the streets of bisbee. About 2 feet of water :O
luckily i have a chevy truck which is bad ass and can take anything teh weather can throw at her.
i had to rescue family and friends and others from there cars and such. Especially poor ol stanhope who was stuck at a poker game and thanks to me. He got home safely. i'll post pics later.
2. i was in the parade but it was a hot day before the rain. I got soaked all over. b/c i didn't have my rain stuff. >_< _________________ I'm a bit silly on the goofy side on nonsense. ^_^ |

Mine wasn't so great either...it was the first Fourth of July that I didn't see a single firework go off for one reason or another...guess I just wasn't up for celebrating the holiday.
It was just one of those days that got spoiled in the morning and there just wasn't much hope for the rest of the day. Parents are so agrivating especially when they are so much like you. I was helping make mom make lunch when I did something to make her fly off the pan handle at me...looking back it was so stupid too...what a waste of vacation days. *sigh* |
