I like 6 pins better than 5, but they're both fun.
I don't do it as a sport, however. But I do like to bowl.
...Even though, this one time, I basically chucked the bowling ball and it landed with a very unhappy sounding thud on the alley. When you crouched down and looked at the alley straight on, you could see a dent from my shotput with the bowling ball competition.

I do 10 pin, which is standard in the UK as far as I know.
Funny story? Once when running up to bowl, I got there but my thumb got caught as I pushed away to it came flying up in the air with my hand. Dislocated my thumb and landed my ball in the next alley.
Haven't ever done it as sport though. _________________ I came

Hehe, 10 pin causes hilarious mishaps. Probably the weirdest things I've seen happen in 5 pin...are someone throwing the ball down the alley, into the gutter...and it went flying into the back area where the machines are. I heard a loud bang.
Oh, and this one person was bowling in a tournament and I was sitting not too far away...they swung the ball back when they went down the alley, and it flew out of their hand and went sailing. Luckily, it didn't hit anyone.
Oh, and of course...one of my teammates was practicing and she fell face first onto the lane when she let go of the ball. And got a strike.
Aaaand, when I was bowling with an adult league, the lanes were sticky. They cleaned them and then they were very slippery. My uncle fell, and then my dad fell, and then one of my other teammates almost fell. We all laughed at them :3
I really want to try 10 pin again '=/
I've only done it once, and got an 86. _________________ |

They do nine-pin in Asutrai, which really isn't much fun. Is set out on a sort of...How to exlain...Well, you know the Umbro logo? Just like that!
Annoying because the two on the far sides forever stay down! And when I was bowling in Austria, my teacher threw the ball so hard it went into one gutter, out into the other gutter and into the pins. Too bad he only knocked down 6.

9? What a weird number of pins to play with o_O
What I find crazy about bowling is that 10 pin is only easy if you throw a curve.
5 pin is easier if you throw straight, but a curve can benefit.
And the thing with 5 pin...it's harder because you could throw a perectly good ball and only hit one pin. In 10 pin, you'd have to throw it at the corner to only hit one pin oO
Although, 5 pin has advantages like the pins being worth more than one.
Like so:
2 2
3 3
5
While ten is like...
1111
111
11
1
I think o.o
Oh well.
Basicly, in 5 pin you can get 15 points each frame, but you're less likely to actually hit a pin '=/

Yeah, 10 pin is one point for every one that goes down, but a strike is worth, I believe 20 points? I have no actual proof but from past experience I think it does. _________________ I came

I love to bowl. When I get the chance to do it, I'm there. I do ten pin. Good times... |

I remember I was playing against my brother one time, my little cousins were with me. I was up by one point, and it was my brother's turn to bowl. He needed a spare to win, but the odds for him were pretty low because the only pins that remained standing were two of them, one on each of the far ends of the aisle. Then he called one of my little cousins to help him out. My brother set his 15-pound bowling ball down in front of the aisle. He asked my little cousin to give it a try. My little cousin gave the ball a big push. Me and my brother watched as the ball slowly rolled down the aisle. The ball knocked down one of the pins on one side; however, to my surprise that pin tumbled toward the second pin, knocking that one down! So, my little cousin broke the split, and my brother won. |

Used to be a bowling alley nearby that did 9 pins. Got knocked down though, just didn't have enough business I guess. Pity really. They did have a kickass bar.
But yeah, as Alpha_zero said, 10 pins is pretty much the standard game here. |

10 pins
Usually I never mention this, but i did bowling for three years, and one day last year when I bowled I got a 7 on my first frame ond when I went to go get my ball from the machine, one machine controls 2 allies, someone bowled sorta the same time I went and my ball came out first and his ball came right after mine and it smashed my hand causing it to bleed and I had to go to the hospital by ambulance because I passed out, but I really didn't I was in so much pain I fell back. I couldn't finish last years season& I was laughed at you guys don't know what it's like. |
