Post your favorite musicians/bands here. BUT there are a few rules you have to follow.
1. You must provide some sort of link to the band--either to their website, a legal mp3 sample, a picture, anything. If you can't find a link, scan the cover of a cd, a picture you took from a show, draw a picture, anything..and upload it somewhere you can link to.
2. The band or bands you post can NOT be well-known to the general public. So no Flogging Molly, Linkin Park, Michael Jackson, and sorry, no Beatles (as much as I love them so..)
a. The musican(s)/band(s) you post MAY be your own.
3. Try to keep it short n' sweet. We know you love your band/musician otherwise you wouldn't be posting them here. Don't write an entire life story of how they formed, how you 'discovered' them, how you wish you could have so 'n so's baby etc.
a. It is encouraged, however, that you describe the type of music your band/musician plays so that we know what we're going to be looking at when we click the link--no scary surprises, please!
4. No unnecessary discussion here. It's much nicer to have simple easy access to your links without needless discussion getting in the way. If you like the same band/musician someone posts, great! It's ok to say "that's so cool you like the same band as me!" anything more than that would probably be better said in private message to keep this thread as tidy as possible.
5. And finally, NO BAND BASHING! This goes along with the no unnecessary discussion rule, but needs it's own slot as it tends to be a HUGE problem. If you've got beef with a band/musician someone posts big deal, we don't care. Do NOT private message the person saying their taste in music sucks and do NOT state your dislike in here. Even saying "That band sucks!" and nothing more is not permitted.
I think that about covers everything. I'd be happy to amend these rules should problems/questions arise. _________________ "I've got a sticky Darodo!"

Shapiro.

These guys come from my home town. They are a very classical rock band. They have very little guitar, a imfacis on bass, and always have a pianio. They are very Pink Floydish and kind Beetleish, but at the same time something all there own.

Martyn Bennett
Sadly, he died in Jan. 2005 of Hodgkin's Lymphoma, but his music will live on! His website(link provided above) has a few sound and video clips, a biography, and other things.
Of all the things I forgot to mention--Martyn Bennett's music is kind of indescribable. In an interview he said, "The simplest way to describe it is that it is, ostensibly, it's kind of dance music in the true kind of electronica sense."..."My music's not dark... I think it's got quite an uplifting, positive message really, and that's the nice thing about doing the gigs is that you see people walk away with an elation about them."
He combines traditional folk music with modern electronic-type music, but it's really so much more than that! The only way I can really explain it is to tell you to give it a listen and see for yourself! _________________ "I've got a sticky Darodo!"

'Cause I'm lame, I'll double post..

The Levellers are kind of punkish hippy folk-rockish. A few politically oriented songs, but a good listen! Lots of fiddle!
The first link is to their official website, last two are from myspace (lame, I know, but lots of full songs and videos to hear and see!) _________________ "I've got a sticky Darodo!"

My buddy's band, inspired by Jrock.
I guess they'd be classified as rock, then.

A local grunge/hard rock band that's really amazing in my opinion. Check out "City by the Sea". It's my personal fav.

Another local band that's actually about to get some national exposure, I believe. They're really getting well-known and the vocalist cuts my hair. |

Seeing as they just put out their newest album, I figure this is the perfect opportunity to introduce you all to one of my favorite bands of all time:
