My fanfics are mutating

When I try to put up my fanfictions now, after the move, if I use the first option then it all runs together as one paragraph and refuses to skip spaces. If I use the second option, then it squishes itself down into font so tiny you couldn't read it with a microscope. If I use the last option and upload it from my computer, it appears with vast gaps between paragraphs and changes all the apostrophes to boxes. Please, help. What am I supposed to do with them?

What do you save them as? Because I'd advise saving in html format and uploading that. :X

Oh. I'm using Word doc. I'll try html then...

EDIT: Putting things in html does not help! It just makes the spaces between words either disappear or turn into question marks.

hm. Yes, one format seems to run it all together, another squishes it into microscopic pixels... another format seems to put 7 or 8 paragraph headings into each one, and so on, and so forth...

I was trying out different formats today, and I actually found that richtext format worked. My chapter came out looking just fine. Very Happy

So try it. Open up wordpad, copy and paste, and see if the format will be okay, though I don't really know...
I write up all of my chapters from scratch on a notepad. When the formatting didn't work, I messed around a bit, but just copy-and-pasting from notepad to wordpad worked brilliantly.
I'm not sure if it'll be the same with html or word documents though, though to be honest, it should hold the same, right...? :/

I'm getting so sick of this! I've tried uploading this one story at least thirteen different times by now! I don't understand why it isn't working!!

Huh. Well, it is the site's 2.0 version. Cstdenis is trying to fix things, and fanfic problems is one in a pretty big handful. Pretty much just keep trying different formats, and wait. :/

I found that richtext worked for me... maybe because my chapter was simple, no bold or italics, no excessive paragraph change... it all depends on the format of your piece. :/

Ohhh...that must be it... ^.^; The fanfic I'm trying to put up is huge and chock-full of italics. The main character uses a lot of them.

Hm. Well, when you put a piece into notepad, doesn't it just make everything regular style, same size, no bold or italics or whatnot?
You could use single ' for thoughts, if that's what the italics are for...
That could take a while though... sorry. Iss all I know. :/

Yeah, I have the same problem. I've tried a million different things but I can't post any fanfiction. Even worse, when I emailed Cstdenis, he was all "It should be working fine." Didn't offer any help at all!

Well, I finally managed to start getting fanfics back up at a decent size. I think there are still problems with it, but not nearly so many--it's actually readable now.

What I did was, I used the second option (Java whatever) and then Copy-Pasted my fanfic from my computer (ordinary Microsoft Word Document) into the box...in size 100 font. Then I clicked Upload, and got an error message. I ignored the error message and hit Upload again, and voila, my fanfic was uploaded in a normal size. Go figure.

If anybody else is having problems with their fanfics, I hope this can help them...
