One Piece is ok. I've only seen around 5 or 6 episodes.

It has some action, adventure, and a storyline, but I can't get into it.

It seems like One Piece causes only two reactions: extreme love or extreme hatred. I like to think that the people who hate it are too shallow to get over "ugly" (STYLISH) characters.

You mean the characters that don't look like generic, cookie-cutter anime stereotypes? Razz

That may be part of it, but what saddens me is that there's probably lots of people who are simply turned off by the horribleness of 4kid's version. I know I am.

I just watched the first 3 One Piece movies at my friend's house. Japanese subtitles. Dude they swear every five seconds and there is so much more blood. I think it's also interesting to note that right now, One Piece is the most popular Shonen series over selling Dragon Ball.

Well, actually, as far as I know, it hasn't outsold Dragonball.
The swearing in the subtitles are more or less fansubbers personal preference, the Japanese just don't really swear the way Americans do.
But the problem with the American One Piece isn't so much the toned down violence as it is the complete gutting dumbing down of the original story and characters.

BTW, the first 3 movies really are kind of lame. The even numbered ones tend to be the better ones, though.

Define "Open". It's "One Piece Discussion". Not "post one completely pointless remark that invites no discussion".

Picture a group of people having a discussion. One Person walks by, voices a vague opinion about the subject without really listening to what they were saying, and walks away. Kind of rude, isn't it?

I'm going to side with anti_sk8r here and say that forum topics and subtitles are really really loose. The comment was on topic and didn't violate any forum rules so who are you to question the validity of his/her post? I'd say you were being the rude one in that situation.

the english dub version of one piece sucks!!!! but it is kinda amuzin but some stuff that has been cut out and are missing are riduculus!!!!

dont blame one piece, one piece is great i love it ^^ blame 4kids they ruin evrything!!!

personally if u lik it u shud invest in the dvds i did !!!!

also if you wanna you could go on you tube they dont have all the episodes but one piece has quite a big audience in you tube so there are plenty of people adding the episodes!!!!

grrrrrrrrrr but sum1 did delete an episode i put in my faves!!!!

the sanjis voice on the english dub is so damn annoyin zolo's is hot tho!!!
but after watchin the Japanese original im callin him by his original name Roronoa Zoro!!!!

the english dub is so far behind it cuts off just short of the middle of the boroque works arc which is around episode 100 in the original n only 80 odd in the dub they cut a lot of important stuff out!!!!

i am nearly up too date now with the one piece YEY

Maybe you meant when Shanks shows up not in flashback? I think it happened twice. One was chapter 234.. I can't find the other one right now.

Yes, I'm back to the forums again. After they were upgraded, I had trouble with them and forgot to come back. Razz

Dub still sucks, the last few chapters of the manga rocked. ^_^

Not really. They're all pretty good. The first three were awesome. The first one was somewhat generic but still pretty good. The second was a bit less-so. The third was cool. It developed Chopper's personality better and the Sanji and Zolo fights were exciting. The best movie IMO is number 5.

Ya. But if you had actually took the time to read the first post the TC said that it was open to all opinions except mean ones. She didn't even make mention of a discussion. The guy wasn't even being mean. In the end, the people like yourself who fuss about it are the ones who come off looking kinda like an ass. Somewhat like how you are, right now.

i have finally caught up 2 the original one piece im finally at current w00t seen em all now >< bad thing i have 2 wait ages for the next ep to aire!!!!
