Why are Anime-based games so bad?

This has been going on for quite some time. Lately, Animes such as Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, and others have been made into games. Video games, that is.

So this is what I'm saying: why do most Anime games, oh, what's that word, um, SUCK?! I mean, Inuyasha was ok, for a half-ass effort.

The Anime corporations think that if they make games based on their Anime shows, people will buy them, and they will make mountains of money. And it seems to work every time. X-Play has gotten a lot of hate mail for being honest about them.

And the corporations don't really care what's in it. As long as it has fan-crazed characters in it, people will buy them. The only GOOD anime games would be:

Sonic X series. They aren't exactly "Anime" because he didn't start out in Anime, though this is ambiguous.

Tales of Symphonia. It is not an Anime game FOR NOW. I found out that somewhere in 2007, an OVA, or "Anime Movie" will be released in Japan about Tales of Symphonia. It is unknown if there will be an American release. ToS ROCKED!!!!

Cheap easy money for the company. Notice that most games based of of pixar films havve sucked too.

No way, really?! That's awesome! I do hope it will be released over in North America.

Er, back on topic. Yeah, you're right, anime games suck majorly. I haven't played that many, but I know Beyblade and Yugioh (can't remember which games) were just plain....ugh...

It took me about ten minutes to defeat Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo from Super Smash Brothers Melee using Peach.
How long did it take my brother to defeat those characters using Yoshi? Two minutes.

Oh my, I love X-Play and it always makes me laugh when they mock the anime video games. It's so true, though.

Yes, the Inuyasha game sucked. I have no idea why I bought it; I don't even like Inuyasha that much. Ah, I know why. I wanted an RPG game really badly and I saw "Inuyasha: Secret of the watchacallit Mask" and saw it was an RPG. After that game, I've realized how horrible they are. Lag lag lag lag lag and crappy animation/graphics. DX

As for BeyBlade and YGO games, I bet they're fine as cards and rolling plastic that you hit against one another, but do you really need the sparkly graphics to make it fun? Especially when the graphics are bad and so is the plot and etc.?

So, to answer the actual topic question straight-forwardly: 1) bad graphics, 2) bad plot, 3) quick gameplay, and 4) hurried game programming

Shonen Jump titles get Generic Cel Shaded fighting games
Shojou anime get crappy "attempting to be visual novels but failing so hard at it" games.
And everything gets one crappy RPG, no exceptions. (Hi, FMA. Smile

)

The problem is they could make really cool platformers out of alot of these series, but they don't. I can think of a few titles I'd like to see in a Klonoa style platformer-xtremely detailed backgrounds like WHOAH and the 3D but not too insanely special omg sprite. But you know. Visual Novels/Dating Sim esque games and generic Fighting games are much easier than that.

blah blah blah Game to Anime transitions are so much better because the other way around the anime almost always sucks.

Whoa whoa... anime-based games do not suck (in my opinion). Naruto Clash of Ninja is awesome. I havn't played like Inuyasha and all that but I do know that not all anime games arn't that bad.

Well, you're a fan of the series. Your experience is much different. To me, all the Naruto games are generic Shonen Jump based fighting games with minimal effort cel shading, like every other anime based fighting game.

I [i]love[/i] Digi Charat, but the game based from it-Digi Charat Fantasy-is "meh" worthy, although I like some of the characters added (homg Carrera and Rin <3), it's a pretty basic "Raising/Dating Sim/Visual Novel" type deal. Like I said before, alot of Anime would make excellent platformers, but that requires more effort put into the production than say..Boring Fighting Game/Visual Novel.

It's much better when game is good enough to have an OVA/TV series based off of it. ;o

Naruto Clash of Ninja series isn't too bad. Neither is One Piece Grand Battle or the Dragon Ball Z Budokai games. And to the TC, most popular games aren't based on Anime. Anime is based on the game. Tales of Symphonia, Sonic, Animal Crossing, Legend of Zelda.

That may be one of the problems here. A lot of fans buy a game just so that they can play as their favorite characters. In fact, that's probably why I bought Clash of Ninja. I'm not saying that Clash of Ninja is bad, I ended up loving it. But part of the enjoyment is still playing as those characters.

yeah, anime based games are'nt always great, and some are just ok.. but i do enjoy a couple of rpg's with the anime style. Grandia,SO3, xenogears. ect

they suck because theydont care all to much about the production quality...

they just want the money that comes from the series...

although they should make them lots lots better, in my opinion...

also...in my opinion...the fma games suked bad...real bad...

Coz It is cheap to produce and they will sell it for like I dunno how much so they will make ton's of money çoz all the kids want the game coz it is Colector items and shit... I guess

because the make most anime games into fighters or adventures like the story . and then push them out at 6 games a year. and cell shade to make them look like the story. then they dont take the time to make the game have good depth. its easy money. if your a fan your goin to buy it most likley.
