|
|
Lately, I've been having an idea in my head, that goes kinda like this:
"Why don't we open up a place on FAC for all those vitriolic arguments and controversies?"
I think that we all need to "vent our spleen" (so to speak) once in a while, or all those grudges and stuff like that might have an effect on our posts. And that's the reason I plan to establish a forum for flamewars.
OK, I admit it-I also want to have a flamewar of my own. But then again, don't we all?
Now, if (and this is a VERY big if) this proposition pushes through, I think the forum would best be arranged like this:
I) Flame Forum
A) Flamer's Den*-for random flamewars
1) The 1st Half-for not-so-"adult" posts
[(2) The 2nd Half-for more "adult" posts]
The Arena*-for one-on-one flamewars and challenges called call-outs
1) The Stands*-news bulletins, announcements, etc.
2) The Antechamber*-for stipulations
C) The Minefield*-for discussion of controversial topics
1) Politics
2) Religion
3) Current Events
(Add any other subdivisions you like.)
I guess it's up to the mods on this suggestion. So, this is where I'll stop. Please consider my suggestion.
Thank you, and good night.
NOTE:
*- not final title: it's up to the mods as to what title they bestow on it
[words in brackets]- may or may not be utilized |

This has been thought of and considered in the past and it was decided it wasn't such a good idea. People will hold grudges and though the area would be designed to hold these arguments, there's no way they'd be contained leading to 'flame wars' across the forum. |

A flaming forum?
Ah, no.
Flaming is, after all, a violation of forum rules on behavior. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

As i have some experience with such a subforum on one of the boards i was years ago (uodev.de) i can only say: No, never, NI! its absolutely contraproductive since most of those flames will sooner or later become insults and hence this will lead to greater problems. So if you want to flame someone go the normal way, take your car, drive by and take out someflamethrower... hmm, damned i thought to much with my Alien vs Predator brain... wait.. ah, solve it by talking through one of those thousans Instand Messangers with your 'opponent' _________________ Quite obviously, our problems do not come from what we invent, but from how we use our sophisticated toys. The difficulties stem not from our hardware or software, but from ourselves.
