I'm thinkin number 1. I guess I like knowing it's Ads from the get-go. _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. This message brought to you by Marlboro.

hm, I think number one is slightly better just because FAC's layout is so organized with everything in its own box, whereas Star Portraits...who does the links directly before the picture thing...is a bit more open. Here it makes it look like the links were slapped in the picture's space while everything else is in its own section. Having "Advertisements" in big bold letters isn't the greatest, but ok for what it is. Like a big full page add in the middle of an article you're reading.
Also, the directly-under-the-picture thing works at SP because they're sponsored amazon links and directly related to the picture. "Find ____ DVDs at amazon". Here it doesn't really make any sense for free email reminders to be directly connected to whatever the picture is. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. I agree with anti_sk8r. I also like #1 better, because it's in its own little box away from the artwork and you know right away that it's advertising. |

MHO = #2, however, I would like to see the ad links underneath the picture controls (report/fave/etc.), rather than separating them from the pic.
Or if you could make a vertical banner running down the right side from the Artist's Comments box...? _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Okay, well, maybe change the word from 'Advertisements' to something better.. At the moment, it's just not attractive..
Perhaps "Sponsored Ads" or simply "Sponsors" ... maybe "Affiliates"..
Advertisements just looks ... not.. right.. to me.. |
