A couple people mentioned Led Zeppelin...hilarious in its irony.
I like Audioslave as a band name because it's almost what a professional musician is...

There's a few. One would be Fine Young Cannibals. A couple others? Definately Queen, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, and the Sex Pistols. But that's just my opinion.

Incubus is an awesome name because of how they came up with it. About 15 minutes before their first show, they had to choose a name. The guitarist opened up a Thesaurus and chose "incubus" at random.
Fail Safe Remedy, because I came up with it. Our original name was "Failsafe" and then after finding out that "we" were scheduled to play a major show in Columbia, we decided to change it.
Especially since we'd like to open for some of the bands that were playing.

I think the best band names have to be catchy and not boring. I consider these the best band names:
Autumn To Ashes
Hawthorne Heights
Pink Floyd
OK Go
and Jimmy Eat World

even though I don't like some of those bands, those are the names that jumped into my head!
