I heard that at E3 okay, this is technically old news, Atlus announced its licensing of two of the Summon Night GBA games, Summon Night Craftsword Story 1 (release on June 27!) and 2.
...YES.
More details here. Although the story they outline is only CSS1, and they have no mention of CSS2. But since CSS2's going to be released in the fall, I guess that's a given. I prefer CSS2, but CSS1 is awesome, too. :3
I absolutely LOVE the Craftsword games, and it makes me so happy they're coming to NA. It has a quick, easy battle system like the one from the Tales series. Multiple endings. Awesome, awesome storyline. And maybe one day we'll see Black/Matrix Zero, too.
Must save monies! :0 |

It's about time! Now I'll be able to preach Summon Night goodness to my internet inept friends. That screenshot with Pratty and Sugarette still makes me laugh- I didn't know you could get her with Pratty, to be honest. RASHOU IS SUPERIOR. =|
I hope they'll bring the older games over sometime-- Maybe in one of those Anthology things like they did for (I think) Growlanser?

Yeah. SN1 and 2 are PSX so it'd be understandable that they'd have to be put into an anthology for them to sell (which would be awesome anyway, :D) but SN3 and SNEX are PS2, so...
:D
I liked CSS2 more. Edge was too cool for me. D; |

Everyone was too loli in the second one. ;_; Even the Rashou clone was like..young as hell. 8D
Ya. I hope they bring over SNEX and Summon Night three too. What I hope they don't do, however..is Bring over Summon Night three and call it "Summon Night". :S Like they did with the UK release of Dragon Quest VIII. _________________ |

Actually, the fact that the main characters looked a little older than the main characters in the first game was one of the reasons why I played it more often. Edge is awesome, what are you talking about? XO
And they honestly did that? o_O; That's so dumb. D: I remember when people got confused over the FF3/6 thing, too. :X
Anyway, I hope the gba series sells well (it should, the rec'd starting price is $29.99 in both US and Canada 8D) so we can see more of it over here. I wonder if they're going to bring over Hajimari no Ishi, too? :0 |

I don't know if Summon Night will ever get popular here, considering that... well, according to rumor, Atlus games make themselves pretty scarce on the market really quickly.
That being said, go out and buy it! Now! :D
It's a relatively short game (about 15h in length), but really fun to play though and definitely worth replaying - since it's so short in the first place, it's rather tempting to replay to get all the side quests, scenarios, and endings.
In fact, I'm like at the end of the game in my first playthrough, and I didn't even realize that side quests existed since I was playing for the story. D: Blast, there goes about a billion weapons. D:
THE BATTLE SYSTEM IS MY BEST FRIEND. <3 Reminescent of the Tales battle systems, but infinitely more interesting. <3 |

My friend reccomended it, aswell, so I just picked it up! I'm playing it on my DS Lite as we speak. I'll tell you how I like it in a bit. _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. This message brought to you by Marlboro.

Whoa, I'd really love to get to play that game! 8D
But... so, is it on the gameboy DS? That might hurt... ;_;
Battle systems like ToS [aka real-time] are the best. |

[offtopic]DSes are cute. And they don't have that stupid dark screen like GBAs. [/offtopic]
Yeah. The battle system is so fun; I really love real-time stuff. Change weapons real time, five different types of which... And you can summon a Summoned Beast to help in battle (though it's really just the magic/support system). 8D
And you get to make your own weapons! YAY ORIGINAL STORYLINE (The bad guys aren't even really bad guys, either; they actually have logical resons for doing what they do! :0)
(I got Rashou for the Shoukanjuu/Summoned Beast because I'm an asshole and purposely picked the options I thought would get him, haha. 8D)
But, even for a three-year-old GBA game, the graphics are top-notch. The environments are very well detailed. <3
etc, etc. I just can't wait for the sequel because, well, I just favour that one over the first game. :V Storyline and characterwise, I guess, since the battle system's mostly the same (though they changed it so that your weapon doesn't go back to full "health" every battle; you have to go back to your forge and re-temper it to fix it - which is more realistic, if you ask me 8D). |

So far it's amazing. The battle system is far better than Tales of Phantasia. The graphics are awesome and the engine is silky smooth. My GB is Kutty. He's cool, tho. _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. This message brought to you by Marlboro.
