Image Reports section

I think that a image reports section should be started so that people can report all the errors that they see in the images other than broken links and images but also repeated work and misplaced pictures....

This 2 pictures are exactly the same for example, and they were both accepted....

Ideas? Discussion?

We have [b]got[/b] to institute some measures to protect against double submissions.

The sooner the better, I'm tired of cleaning up after them.

Denis, can you implement a same-title check sometime soon?

many pictures have the same name because they are the same characters... wouldn't work in my opinion... AP has to take care of new ones and members should report the ones they see....
I also don't like WIP submissions but what can I do....

A couple of Dave Grohl Pics in wrong categories.... Its in nirvana and everyone knows that dave was once part of nirvana but both this pictures look like dave's foo fighter's era drawings.... this is also a thing that could be changed with the category....

the more people who look around for those mistakes the more mistakes we will find and since the AP is tighter now, after all the mistakes are reported we will reach the time in wich we will stop having misplaced or double pictures...

I will sometime impliment a general report function -- not that the site helpers need more work....

As for duplicate submissions, maybe I should start a md5 checksum feature. Would be rather resource intensive tho.

So what do you do on dA? They already have a rule against using the same submission title more than once.

ok so you should make a filter for pictures with the same name by the same artist..... right?

And if site helpers have too much work you just need more site helpers..... Rolling Eyes

Start simple. Checking the title/description against the previous submission would filter out a bunch of the double-submissions already.

Besides, anyone who can't think of a more original title than "INUYASHA!" for all of their submissions... well... Rolling Eyes

Strata, I've seen this around on some websites... They have a one-time click only option, so if you could set this on the 'submit' button, people can't click it more than once on that page, and so you won't get double-submissions.
Could this work?

Old FAC used to have that, maybe I need to put it in again.

For the most part this is due to problems in the submission system. When I finally get around to reprogramming this system I think things will be much better.

That feature always bugged me, because of the fact that if I got something wrong and pressed back, I couldn't repress the submit button and had to start all over, not good

check out today's [aug 22] recent pics. on the 3rd page [as of right now, first, but by whenever, third from last] you'll find quite a few pics that seem to be pixelated from dolls, and I do believe gaia online from another.
Better take a look.

what's the method image boards use to take care of duplications?

do they remember the bits of information sampled from the jpg and have them on their datalog or something of that sort?

They likely use a checksum (crc or md5 or sha1)
