What are the fun/nice things you miss from being a kid.

Mine are:

Those trainers with the flashing lights on the back when you walk/run.
When the entire village school loved Pokmon.
How exciting Christmas used to be.
How easy school used to be.
And the games you could play.

Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

Reading "Goosebumps".

Taking plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

Slap bracelets and slam books. Hell yeah.

The ORIGINAL Power Rangers. You kids need to go watch that show right now so that you can fully understand what you have missed.

Trapper Keepers and Yikes pencils, baby.

Also, when SNES was the pinnacle of gaming (in some ways, it still is).

Another question: Does anyone remember when McDonalds would do the Barbie/Hot Wheels happy meals every other month. What happened to that? I don't see those around anymore.

I remember the Barbie/Hot wheels meals. Sometimes I'd get a car. Some times I get a barbie. I used to have this sea horse squirt gun from McDonalds from the time the Little Mermaid was released. I was effing sweet.

Things I miss

Old Nicklodeon shows
My Little ponnies
No one caring what you wore...(was went to school in a cat woman suit once...)
Old Disney movies
Eating What ever
Play pretend
Math wasn't hard
no reports
Bill Nye the science guy
Happy meals (I indulge in that once in a while)
Pogs
Stirrup Pants ( those were freaking cool. There was no way you could lose your socks wearing a pair of them puppies)

I remember the MacDonalds things - I usually got the car hotwheels things because I was adamant that pink should be burnt. Razz

Yeah, I miss decent Disney movies. I mean, come on. They recently released Bambie 2! 2~!! How horrific is that!? The originality has died!

-Playing "pretend" games.

-The original Power Rangers. Fuck yes.

-Playing pretend games pretending you are one of the Power Rangers.

-good Disney movies with no shitty sequels.

-Being innocent and not having every conversation end in a dirty joke. Remember the days when bananas weren't phallic? 8D

- Drinking those nasty-ass Orbitz drinks. You know the ones.

-Believing in Santa

-Easter Egg Hunts

- Choose Your Own Adventure Books

-Gossebumps Books

- And when R.L. Stein made those "Give Yourself Gossebumps" books, I was thrilled beyond ALL reason.

- (specific to me) growing up in a tiny mountain village that seemed to be stuck in time. Technology? What is this technology you speak of? We also lived on a huge chink of property, and I'd run around and explore every day. Man, I wish I was eight again.

Smurfs
Bionic Six
Voltron
Thundercats
Silverhawks
Transformers

Being excited to go over to a friend's house who actually owned a NES.

Fighting with that friend about NES vs. SMS and so on.

^ Was that like Puppy in My Pocket and Kitty in My Pocket? My aunt used to but those for me all the time! They were so awesome!!! We have a professional portrait photograph of me and my sister when I was five and she was 3 and we are holding the little dogs in it.

Never heard of those, but they're probably similar.

Here are some pictures of some of the older ones: http://hometown.aol.com/tabbymlp/LPS.htm

Took forever to find these pictures. D: They're making new versions now and all the animals are these ugly little super-deformed things.

I miss being able to cry and get my way. . . . .

(that sounds a bit greedy, but it was great when I was a kid...)

slush puppies Surprised i miss those

yelling at my cousin for sitting on my gerbil
getting a new gerbil
losing the new gerbil
deciding that i dislike gerbils
getting a cat
moving to a new city
many friends with problems
when a computer was like 34 inches and made fun sounds

ah, childhood memories
