Blender magazine has called My Chemical Romance's new album, the album of the year. They give it 4 and half stars and call it an instant classic. That's some very good hype. I'm not a huge fan of this band but I will probably buy it due to this recommendation. I'm intrigued to say the least. |

Album of the year comes down to Meds by Placebo, or A Matter of Life and Death by Iron Maiden. |

Personally, I can't wait to hear Incubus's new album in full. I'm impressed by "Anna Molly" so far, but I really want to hear "A Kiss to Send Us Off".
I think Light Grenades will pull through. |

Everyone I know who likes Incubus was horribly disappointed. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Incubus go through a metamorphosis with each album, and so I'm simply going to wait to hear it before I make my judgements. I've heard mixed reviews from plenty of people, and I'm going to listen for the same things I always listen to.
I mean, anyone who got into S.C.I.E.N.C.E. would probably be sick by the time they heard Morning View.
From what I can tell, Boyd's lyrics are still excellent. |

Lyrics do not a band make.
Lyrics make poetry (and usually bad poetry, no matter how good the lyrics).
By "everyone I know who likes Incubus", I meant "everyone I know with a remotely decent musical opinion who likes Incubus". They were disappointed by the quality, not the particular incarnation/style choice.
ETA: Meds wins anyway, 'cause even if Incubus was decent (and everyone knows MCR sucks balls), Meds is far beyond competent. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Yeah. MEds FTW!
I was gonna get the redone "placebo", ya know the one with the DVD that they remastered. But the store didn't have any. Assholes, they told me they had three copies. |

Album of the year, eh. I know this is basically falling on deaf ears but here's my top 3 picks
1. Thursday- A City by The Light Divided
2. Sam Roberts- Chemical City
3. Muse- Black Holes and Revelations
For hip hop probably Ghostface Killah- Fishscale. This was a superb album. |

Lyrics don't make the band, but they capture my attention as a lyricist. The quality of the music is, of course, the main focus. I just find the lyrics and the guitar to hit me first.
Incubus has rarely let me down when it comes to their overall creativity and melodies so I hope that my opinion won't be similar to your friend's assessments.
Although I was not impressed with some of the songs off of A Crow Left of the Murder.
As far as MCR goes, I really dislike the single "Welcome to the Black Parade". The only thing that makes it worth listening to, for me, is the guitar work. Nothing else appeals to me. |

9_9 You know, people say MCR sucks, and I can understand that they say that because it doesn't appeal to their opinion, but in the end MCR is talented.
And you know it, bitches. D= |

No, they are not. The guitarist may have some talent, but inthe whole its debalanced by the sheer shittiness of everthing else.

MCR is not awesome. It fails. You fail to back yourself up. |

On the contrary, we know quite the opposite and have explained why many times.
You, on the other hand, appear to know nothing. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
