The subject remains 'self care'

If everyone loves the 'natural' look, then we'd all be hairy cave people

...right?

I'm pretty sure most people aren't hairy, nor are they cave people.

Make up + Katherine Harris = What the...?

Everyone in my government class made fun of her make up last year when we had to to a report on Florida's House and Senate.

Everyone makes fun of her. Michel Moore, the Washington Post, everyone.

"They had trucks in Florida bringing the ballots to Tallahassee. In fact, it's the same trucks they used to bring the makeup to Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris." Jay Leno

"It's cold out. It's even cold in Florida. So cold today that Katherine Harris put on a third layer of makeup." Jay Leno

"Katherine Harris is in the middle of her 15 minutes of fame. Here's stage one of the 15 minutes of fame: Public ridicule. Stage two: The beauty makeover. Stage three: Posing nude for Playboy. Stage four: Becoming Mrs. Larry King." David Letterman

Harris even poked a little self-deprecatory fun at herself back in 2000, when, upon being recognized shopping at Target, she quipped, "I only have on one layer of makeup. I'm incognito."

I don't mind a little make-up. Just as long as I don't apply too much at once, and as long as I use the colors that appeal to my skin. I wear light colors only. I also use concealer to diminish my undereye circles a bit so that I wouldn't look tired when out in public. I wear eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, lipstick/gloss. Not all at the same time, of course.

Makeup doesn't give you pimples (fact). Putting shit on and touching your face without washing it morning and night does. So makeup or not, you touch your face and don't practice hygene then yeah, your fucked.

I'm an avid believer in applicators. A good set of makeup brushes runs you anywhere from $60-100 bucks. I have a set of sephora brushes which thanks to this topics, reminds me to splurge a little and replace them soon. Small brush and larger eyeshadow brush a must. I don't use blush but i do use the brush for it. It's perfect for taking off any extra shadow after your done. Just two sweeps and perfecto! Powder foundation is more lightweight and absorbs excess oil/sweat and the brush works nice again for it. Liquid, well i only use it rarely and luckily when i do i don't need much. Thankfully my skin isn't half bad. Then again i wash it morning and night.

Make up can be fine, I know alot of girls [myself included] who know that it is not a good look to be orange or to look like you've stepped out from the 80s.

I've always been told that make=up assentuates original beauty, and you're not meant to hide, but to just give nature a little kick in the bum. But I don't see that anywhere. There's foundation and concealer applied all over the face and into the hair line. Lipstick, stark eyeshadow and dark eye-liner - not a good look.

There's a girl in my college class who looks like a tangerine and when she wears a white fluffy coat, all her foundation rubs off and it goes orange. Ugh, doesn't that just tell you to wear less make up?

Make-up sucks, yet I where it. I where too much eye-liner and too much concealer. And then there's the fact that I have exima on my face, so it looks like I have beige scales. I wonder if boys think I look scary? Embarassed

I use to think that make-up was rediculous and that it was something i was never going to 'conform' into getting into. Then again, when your 13 that's just how it is. Im 17 now, I like to wear make-up. Sure It's good to go all natural too, but just looking plain with nothing makes it seem like you dont take care of yourself and that you dont care. Well, that's what i think.

Old ladies are the worst when it comes to makeup. The other day I saw this one lady who looked like she colored her eyelids with a charcoal pencil. Then she had this neon pink lipliner on but no lipstick.

Make-up is overrated. I don't care if other people wear them, but I don't like it. I don't get the impression that not putting on make-up means you don't care about your appearance. I thought make-up is just something you wear to a party.

Guess that's why my face is loaded with pimples. Shocked

I don't wear any makeup at all. . . . .

I do care. I like being natural. Makeup doesn't feel right on me. I'm a true tomboy. Wink

I'm not interested. Besides, most girls at my school have lots of pimples, too. Confused

So? Why are you going to let your skin become even more damaged? you're going to regret not taking care of your skin when your older. Those are going to become scars and you'll age faster. Oh, how fun. I suggest that you look into Proactive. You'll thank me later.
