Yes, and it's also lacking privacy. Most people that keep journals don't put them out for the world to see. If it's normal stuff, fine. But i never understood why some people feel the need to put their more serious and personal matters on the web for all to look at. It's just another cry for attention in that case you ask me.

I think there's a distinct difference between the two anyhow. I personally wouldn't say they were the same.

Well.. not always just anyone. A lot of people have things like 'friends only' journals.

I've never had a journal. I just never figured anyone would read it. *shrugs*

I never had a journal, because I never felt like I had to keep secrets from my best friends. I use Livejournal mainly to keep in touch with my friends so they know how I've been.

The only real journal I ever kept was a dream journal. It got annoying waking up every morning to write down what I dreamt about, though. Always so much to write.

The idea of having a journal isn't about keeping secrets. That should be common knowledge. It's more about personal time and thoughts. They may be things you might normally say to people but at the time there isn't anyone around to talk to about it. Then again it's good for opinions and thoughts you might not normally share with people.

Having best friends doesn't mean spending your whole fucking day telling them every little thought or opinion. No one would have any friends if they did that.

A journal is personal. Like everyone needs a little space once in awhile. Some "me" time. Nobody in their right mind wants to share 24/7.

I personally dont have a journal, and would never create one, but i do support Lashers argument because it is a matter of privacy.

Teh Intronet is horrible for "privacy" people that keep online journals are most likely 13 year olds that think its normal to tell all to the world and think that they are important enough for anyone to read about.

If i would ever keep a diary, i would write about this.

See, that i don't find to be anything personal. That's more along the lines of something you'd hear in a conversation between everyday friends.

I still think theres a huge difference.

I keep a journal, it's a sketchbook where half the content is writing. I don't keep personal stuff that I don't want to share though, it gets sporadically handed in my art courses for bonus marks.

My 'journal' is my sketchbook. I don't really care much for words, but certain drawing I've done in my books remind me of things and get my point across. Besides that, it's pretty personal since no one else understands my pictures.

I don't update it. Ever. It's got old stuff, but I did an update tonight just for you~

I keep a band blog on our MySpace and all it does is report on highlights in regards to practices/shows. Mainly updates concerning new material.

I don't know... I personally think that a "journal" is a subjective thing. You can pretty much do whatever you want with it and it could still be called a journal. Just as there is no universal agreement on "perfection", I think that journals are the same way.

A journal is whatever you want it to be~ Whether it involves talking about day to day stuff, used like a forum or involves personal things, it's still a journal if the owner wishes to see it that way.

So basically, I don't get what all the wanking is about. Enjoy life; it's better for your blood pressure.

I have a journal, but I don't write in it as often as I used to. I used to write in it a lot, but it was mostly just everyday jumble. Then, the posts got fewer and dealt with more personal troubles and sometimes a tad bit of ranting. I wrote down a whole four pages of stuff once when I was very emo-like, then tore it up and threw it away in the morning. I don't think I would have been able to stand having it sitting in my book. >>;

The whole blog thing seems fine to me, as just showing people who they are in that sort, but I'd rather keep my more personal stuff to myself. That's the meaning of 'personal', no?

Don't expect me to go and get a dictionary, but I'm probably wrong, lol.

I get annoyed by people who say there's no plot to Rocky Horror. 'Cause the subject may be odd, but it's a pretty damn linear, clear cut plot.

Suprisingly enough, I actually keep a journal.
I write in it everynight.

I have a journal but I get lazy and forget to write in it, which gets me quite angry.

I think the plot starts off one way and then turns into something else... plus tehre's no clear protagonist. Are the protagonists Brad and Janet or Frank?
