In your opinions, what were some kickass bands youve seen live in concert before. (Or worst)
Tom Petty and My Chemical Romance put on good shows.
TAKING BACK SUNDAY was absolutly the worst performers ever. They were before the ehadliners and really killed my spirits I mean, Papa Roach was before them, got hyped, TBS came on stage made me tired and sleepy. _________________

Green Day and My Chemical Romance are really good live. I've seen videos of their concerts. _________________ 14 is forever. |

Best:
1. Poison. Really really really hard choice. And they only get the top spot because I love them so much, not because they put on the best technical show. They opened for KISS, so they didn't get to have their usual stage show with lots of pyro and lights and confetti. In some ways this was almost better 'cause it really proved that the show ISN'T just a bunch of flashy stuff with crappy music. They brought just as much energy and fun to it without relying on the stage effects. Still....I missed some of the glitz and glamour that they love so much. Maybe they'll be able to pull it together again in the future, but I doubt it.
2. Motley Crue. I saw them twice. The show in Reno...would probably fall towards the bottom of the list 'cause I had cheap seats (though still floor seats) and compared to the second show there's no comparison. The second time I saw them here, I was front and center. I think their reunion tour has been covered well enough in the media that I don't need to describe their stage show, but yeah, it is as awesome as everyone says it is and more.
3. Velvet Revolver. This may not have ranked so highly if and only if it wasn't festival seating and I was smack dab in the front row, just right of center (even better, that's Duff's side, fuck Scott). Aside from a really terrible bruise on my ribs from the barricade and constant pushing from five thousand people behind me, it was super. Duff is still stunning. Slash is Slash. Scott is no Axl, but he'll do. The sound quality was surprisingly good for their tunes being so...busy. The only gripe I had was the Gn'R tunes they covered. 2/5 of the band may be there (I don't count Matt), but they're still Axl's songs, and Scott just can't do them justice. I don't wanna hear him butcher Out Ta' Get Me or It's So Easy, kthx. Did I mention Duff is stunning?
4. David Bowie. David would probably rank #2 if I'd had a better seat. As it was, I went with someone who bought the tickets super late, thus i had reeeeeally bad seats. It still makes the top five though because...it's David Fuckin' Bowie. He's still absolutely amazing, and by the time the Reality tour came around, he was back to playing all the hits instead of just whatever album he was working on at the time. Really long, really incredible show.
5. Silvertide. These boys are craaaaaazy. They were the first openers for Motley here in Portland, and what a waste that was. They related to the crowd best, but they had to go on so early that most people were still outside the venue drinking. Didn't slow them down any, though. Incredible talents, great catchy tunes, and those boys know how to put on a show.
Worst. All these are opening acts, I've never paid to see a bad headliner.
4. The Exies (second openers for Motley). Absolute garbage. They have no energy, everything sounds the same, complete snooze fest.
3. The Polyphonic Spree (opening for Bowie). I get what Bowie saw in them, but I just thought they were a joke. Lame lame lame.
2. Hoobastank (opening for VR). AND THE REASON IS YOOOOOOOU suck. Christ, and I thought The Reason was obnoxious, every song of theirs makes me wanna kill myself. I wouldn't have even tolerated them except for the festival seating thing. Waste of oxygen. Probably why they rate so high on my Worst list, I was forced to be right up front and center to witness their suckage.
1. Sum41. What. The. Fuck. I would have left the arena to wait, but was mildly curious about how much they would suck. And booooy did they exceed my expectations. Not only did they look and act like irritating frat boys who were way too amused by themselves, every god damn song sounded the same. I couldn't tell where one ended and the next began. Only one fat guy in the audience was cheering for them, and I think that's just 'cause he was drunk. As if their "performance" wasn't stupid enough, at the end they let the drummer sing, and he proceeded to pretend to ass rape the singer with the mic. OMG SO FUNNEH!!!! U R KEWL!!!!! Douchebags.
Not counting little bands I've seen that have rocked or sucked. At least people have a frame of reference for these ones. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

They don't sound the best without editing, but their performances are so theatrical, it makes up for it. _________________ 14 is forever. |

It does for me, but only because I'm a huge fan. They could sing about anything and I'd still love them. I can see how much you hate them. _________________ 14 is forever. |

My Chemical Romance actually gives brilliant live preformances. They do a splendid job in captivating the audience, and it's so vibrant and energetic. The musicianship at their live performances are also great.
However, due to the fact that Gerard had a smoking problem, the nicotene has been terribly killing his voice. D: It's cracking so much, which brings them quite the bit down. It saddens me, really. Gerard may be a great person, but his vocals lately haven't been very good.
Their performances during the time of I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love were better - at least in accordance with Gerard's better vocals at the time. Otherwise, Bob's the better drummer of today really.
I'm going to see them in February. <3 |

Mago de Oz puts a great show... that's the only concert I've been to worth mentioning... although the venue's acoustics sucked, the feeling was great and they just had so much energy... playing two and a half hours straight is WAAAAAY HARD, specially with their complex songs, 9 people all playing in perfect timing.
I've seen many videos but those don't count, commonly they are editted until it sounds like a studio recording. _________________
