Artist Of The Week Or Month

UPDATE:

All suggestions so far placed in this thread for new nominees for the FAC Artists Of The Month have been noted. I have gone through and made sure that any suggestions made by you, FAC users, are legit nominees, and if they look good by me and the other staff, they are placed on the list of nominations. The next two winners will be announced on June 1st. So for the next week i will be looking for any new suggestions, and if they meet the standards the staff wish to uphold (we're going to take high quality work before any other, it is a contest/award to be named one of the two artists of the month) They will be added to the list until the last two nights of the month, in which the new winners will be choosen.

RULES:

To give the FAC users a just of how it's done, i'll explain a little on how we choose the winners.

Every month, on the 1st of the month, two new winners will be announced on the main FAC page.

How it was done for the first time and will continue to be done, is that all suggestions made by FAC users and staff, are then looked into, and as long as the person suggested isn't stealing art, copying, tracing, editing others, flamming, etc etc, and are of course, talented artist with some of the best skill on the site, they are then added onto a list of names. As new name is added, it is then placed on a piece of paper, and put away safely until the last few days at the end of the month, when it is then randomly drawn.

In the last week or so of the month, i will be looking through this thread for any new suggestions any FAC users may make. And once making sure the suggested artist is legit, they will then be added to the list, etc etc.

The two new winners will be announced every month, on the 1st of the month.

Suggestions are still welcomed.

I just have a few questions on some things I'm not 100% clear on.

As far as choosing people to be drawn, are you going for artists who are not well known and/or don't do mainstream fandoms? Or is anyone pretty much in the running? If the "well known" aspect does apply, what's the line? Like how many comments do they have to have/not have ect. to be concidered either?

We're going for artists that aren't very well known. There's no comment limit, but they should be artists that don't get tons of comments on every picture and whose name isn't a well known one on the site.

That's actually a pretty cool idea. The mods could choose ten pictures easily. But unlike the artist of the month I think it should have been posted on FAC that month too.

Could be cool. Would probably have to come up with some limits about how many months one person can be featured, though, for those artists who produce awesome work constantly (oh how I hate them...in a loving way, of course). Like once every three months, whatever. It'd take work and probably not really be put together until after categories and such are taken care of more.

If they can produce awesome stuff every month they deserve to be featured more often on the pictures of the month I think.

I suppose if there's 10. I was just thinking of other sites such as DA or elfwood where it gets tiring to see the same people on the Daily Top Favorites list or Mod Choice.

That is the complete list of accepted nominees so far. By the end of the month, it will grow most likely with one or two i have researched and agree upon. After i make sure the staff have no objections to it.

As for the top ten artist of the month. Well, if you really want it, fine, talk about, come up with it. I won't be doing that though. I've got enough to do. *sighs*
