and tori amos covered nirvana...? meh i feel that nirvana is the kind of band that shouldn't be covered. it just wouldn't be right... too weird

Rage covered all of their inspirations in their last studio album. It was pretty cool, actually.
My former algebra 1 teacher was gay, he played everything you DIDN'T want to hear. Her cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was terrible.
Did she even know the song was named after a female deodorant?

Some of the WORST covers I have EVER heard are:

"I Love Rock 'n' Roll" - Britney Spears (can you believe that?? She butchered it, shoved it down the garburator, threw it in the garbage... then took it out, and claimed it was music... Had she been in the room, I would have done the same to her... except left her in the garbage)

"My Heart Will Go On" - New Found Glory (not that the song was that great in the first place... but again... butchered... that song was never meant to have distorted guitars or screaming in the song)

Those are my worst... can't think of some good ones right now... *sigh*

o my word it so is! i loooooooove that cover! they played that as their closing song when i saw them in concert, and it was so incredibly awesome. cool video too, tho i've never seen baseketball (i know it sucks, but i wanna see it just b/c reel big fish has a cameo in it. plus it's the southpark guys... and they rock). rbf really does some of the greatest covers. "hungry like the wolf", "boys don't cry", "brown-eyed girl"- all are fantastic and er... skariffic?

and yea, those are pretty bad covers, plungergirl. nothing even needs to be said about britney's, and since i didn't like that song to begin with i didn't like the nfg cover of "my heart will go on". it just sounded weird. i liked their other covers of "that thing you do", "th goonies are good enough", "neverending story", and "glory of love", tho.

gah avril.. chop suey... so stupid... glad i haven't heard it

and sorry chux- i guess you'll just have to keep seeing them until they play some covers! i think all the covers they've done are live- i have a couple downloaded and all are live, anyway. except take on me, since it's from the basketball soundtrack. but wooooooo i'm almost positive i'll be seeing them soon! ahh they're playing with catch-22, rx bandits, suburban legends, and big d and the kids table at roseland ballroom on june 24. i'm soooooooo excited! it's like the perfect concert! love... ska...
