What's your favorite videogame soundtrack(s)?
I like:
-LOZ(Ocarina), Gurdo Valley, Kakoriko village
-LOZ(WW), Dragonroost, and Wind temple boss fight
-Kingdom Hearts, Simple and Clean(full version)
-FF7, One Winged Angel
-Shadow of the Colossus, all tracks

I like all tracks in FFVIII.
I also like the tracks in the Sly Cooper series. Very spy-like.

Well there is one game inparticular that I listen to for the soundtrack, and because it's essential to the gameplay. And that would be a little gem of a cult classic, called "Enemy Zero". The score was done by Michael Nyman, and it's incredible.

Another great one is Shadow of the Colossus. Very touching score. Adds a great emphasis on the drama and epic feel of that game.

I like Project Gotham Racing 2's soundtrack a lot too. Very nice variety. And awesome customization options.

Okami, Okami, Okami. <3 I also love the Lost Child soundtrack, even though it's some random Japanese fighting h-game that I really don't know anything about.

I also enjoy listenening to the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Xenogears soundtracks on occassion.

I am most fond of the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack. Particularly the theme for traveller's town.

Anybody know where I could download some VG music?

hmmm. well there is quite a few, so i'll just name some of them.
[list]FFX-Suteki Da Ne, Besaid Island, Via Purifico, Hymn of the Faith, annd Contest Of Aeons.
FFX2- Real Emotions, 1000 Words, and Thunder Plains.
FFVII- Cosmo Canyon, Wutai, Shinra, and Honeybee Manor

Chrono Trigger on SNES. That was the first game where I truly paid attention to the music, and I loved it.

I downloaded the entire soundtrack off of blue laguna. After three-four weeks of listening to it, I've weeded out about 5-8 songs.
...Out of a total of 67. (Three because they were basically remixes of one 15-second long tune, and another that was the naptime/inn-time song)
I love this soundtrack. Absolutely perfect. So very melancholy at times, yet so lovely...

And FFX2 and IX (I think) had some real nice music too.
Oh, and also the Black Mages remixes, if they count. Those are the best remixes ever.

But ChronoCross is just beautiful. They've been CD-ified for around-the-house listening. Until everyone but me is downright sick of it.

If anyone wants some music, there's Galbadia Hotel and there's Blue Laguna, both excellent sites for VG music.

You know, there should really be an official vg soundtrack/music discussion topic in this section. I remember one was made in music awhile back (anime included), but it didn't last too long.

Before this turns into a "FF has the best music ever" topic, I'd like to say that Uematsu "peaked" before the ever exalted FFVII compositions and shouldn't be let near orchestras ever again.

That horse being kicked, the man whom he apparently drew inspiration from-Koichi Sugiyama is a bit more preferred in my book, if only for a few select songs that are [i]very[/i] good. I've always found that first Symphonic Suite collection for DQ to be a very pleasant listen.

Anyway, now that the "make the post sound thoughtful and interesting" part is out of the way, I'd like to say that Go Shiina-a composer who worked with Motoi Sakuraba on a few of the Tales soundtracks-composed one of my favorite soundtracks: Tales of Legendia. It not only sounded good- it felt good. It had a very..epic air about it. I actually didn't care too much about the game 'till I heard the soundtrack.

Best game ever, I remember playing with all 6 characters and beating it, woot. It's about Europe in 1522, you get a ship and you move around, play pirate, colonialist, explorer, and trader.

It had so many good music inserts, I couldn't believe it, I loved every single BGM, there were one for each continent and each character too. Years later, I would discover that the game was one of the first thing Yoko Kanno ever composed, 1992.

i'm into haunting music from soundtracks. Resident evil is also known for its beautifully composed score. I lovelovelove the music from RE: Outbreak. And some of the music from Silent Hill is great to. GTA3 had some pretty good exclusive music to, like Fade Away, damn good song Very Happy

but i'm all about the creepy horror tunes tho.

I like just about all the music I've ever heard except a few tunes here and there. I love all but two themes in both Paper Mario games. In fact I love the music in all the Mario games ever made o.o;. Hell, every Nintendo game I've ever played. Oh, can't forget Kingdom Hearts, I love the music in that Very Happy
