What kind of a person are you when you play video games with/against people all over the world; people you've never met before. What are you like, wearing your little headset so you can say almost anything you want to people? And for those of you xbox-live gamers who DON'T have or use a headset, use your imagination.
These are the following types of people I've encountered on xbox live so far. Oh, and these are just my opinions; not facts. Some of you guys may have different perceptions about the following things I'll be saying. No offense, okay
1) You got the dumb-asses and jerks. People who like to cuss other players out for no reason at all. They do it because they find it amusing; after all, they know I can't burn them on the stake, if I don't know where they live or what they look like. Damn...
2) You got the little kids. Kids will be kids, but it's still really annoying when they get so overexcited during the game that they'll scream stuff like "WOOHOO!" or "I'm awesome!" I'm separating the little kids from dumbasses and jerks because little kids, I think, have a better excuse of being immature than us big people do.
3) You got people who speak in foriegn languages; it's really interesting and sometimes I find myself learning a few words myself. I've had French people, Spanish people, and Russians so far. It's interesting.
4) You got the bad sports. People who love to scream at the TV whenever they lose to someone on Xbox live. For some reason, I get pleasure from beating people like that when playing Halo. These guys need to chill. I mean, it's just a game, right? They should just hush; turn off the Xbox; and do something more meaningful like reading a novel. These guys are probably the most annoying after they win a Halo match against me, bragging about themselves, saying things like "You just got served!" or "Man, I rock!" I can't believe how proud of themselves they can be. Congratulations; you've just won...NOTHING! Well, I suppose some people like these also belong in the category of "dumbasses and jerks."
5) You got the mature people. The ones I've met are not too quiet, but they don't talk random shit either. If someone randomly cusses them out, they normally either ignore him or respond to him with a very witty remark. People like these don't let others on Xbox live get to them because in the end, they know that it's all just a game.
Well, I suppose Xbox live just wouldn't be entertaining without such a variety of players, right? So, tell me... What kind of a person are you when playing on Xbox live? Whether you're playing Halo, Gears of War, Unreal Championship (or was it Unreal Tournament?)...etc.

Um.... wow, that's a long post. I normally like to talk. What's the point of playing online, if you aren't going to socialize?
As for the people that don't speak english... it just so happens that they live in other countries... so they do have a good excuse. But yeah, I get a good laugh racing brits during the day. Especially brit kids, when they swear with that accent it's tooo funny.
I like to talk to chill, agreeable gamers. Which may be 2 out of 10. But I normally just play online with my actual friends.
I think 80% of the xboxlive goers were sweet until Halo 2 came out. Then 80% of them were outright deuchebags. And that remains the case. |

...........Wow, that IS a pretty long post. Sorry bout that. Well, I've seen longer posts, believe or not. I probably misinterpreted some of the things I said up there. I don't mind if people wanna socialize; heck, I recommend it. I just hate it when they diss you for no reason. Once in a while, I meet normal people, but a majority of the time, I get the deuchebags. One of them threatened to "kill my family" and I didn't even do anything to make him mad.
Hm... I've never played against Brit kids before, but it sounds really amusing. I personally only play Xbox live with my brother and cousin; we play Halo 2 on team-training mode. Of course, based on my own experiences, Halo isn't the only game where you'll find a lotta jerks. I found a lotta jerks on Gears of War as well and some other games. |

I don't think I've ever encountered one of those freaks. Sends shivers down my spine, though. I've had perverted comments thrown at me, though; not that it should matter too much because none of the people on Xbox live know what I look like. But you know how random people can be. I remember losing to this dude, and after I lost, he said somethin like "your ass is delicious." After I "respawned" and returned to the game, I hunted him down and shot him. Sure made me feel better. But yeah, I can't always tell just how old the person is; to me, a lotta people who talk on Xbox live sound the same. That's just me, though. |
