But then again, Water and Flying are two of the most common types in the game, so while that's all Electrics are good for, it covers a huge chunk of the Pokédex. Hehehe....
But that's why the shinx evo chain is so handy. They naturally learn the dark type moves bite and crunch, taking out psychic and ghost, two other heavy hitters, and can be bred to learn ice moves that can take out grass ground and dragon. That's an even BIGGER chunk of the pokedes then most other pure electrics (the electyke evo chain can learn the same stuff but they don't have as much power). And their attack ratings are so high that they can pysically abuse nearly every other type.
Fire would be more useful against Ice if there weren't as many Water+Ice types, or fewer Ice-type pokémon able to learn Water-type moves/TM's.
That kind of thing annoys me to no end. It's like how in the GenI games Ghost was supposed to trump psychic except there were NO good ghost type moves and the three actual ghost type pokemon available were a dual type with poison making them super vulnerable to psychic types. |

...Not to mention that the only G1 Dragon-type move was "Dragon Rage" which always struck a guaranteed 40 pts. damage regardless of type.... at least Ghost had one bonified attack move (Lick). _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Yeah, I always hated that about Dragon Rage. It's pretty useful earlier on, but later it's just obscure and crappy. I mean, if that's the hardest hitting skill your Pokemon has against a particular type, then he probably shouldn't be out there. :\

Oh, yes, once upon a time Kadabara/Alakazam was king of the world, lol. But yah, that pissed me off, too.
I'm back here playing Emerald since I don't own a DS. ; The storyline is okay, so far (I've played Ruby and Sapphire before this, and I hear the plot is slightly altered for Emerald)... o3o; I love my team, although it's the same as always (with the addition of a Skarmory, which is something I don't usually use, o3o; )
I still raise a male Ralts just so I can have a drag queen in my party. 8D |

You should raise the ralts 8D I seriosly think Ralts is the best pychic evo line. A lot of people like the abra one better but ralts has a better moveset and you can get a stage two evo without trading it.
Plus as you say there's the whole dragqueen thing too 8D (has a male garevoir on her Emerald team for pretty much that reason... plus he kicks booty)
I been searching forever to find one for my pearl team : ( No luck... and people are so damned stingy with thier Ralts eggs... they never want to trade them for anything save legendaries dittos and shiny pokes (of which I have NONE) |
I got Diamond the first day it came out. I admit, i'm still a Pokemon fan.
I chose Piplup, named it Aquin. I've played over 30 hours total. And my Empoleon is in level 50. Everybody said Empoleon was the best choice, so I chose it. I really like the music and graphics. I especially like using GTS (Global Trading Station) I got a japanese Turtwig out of it, then I was able to trade that Turtwig for a japanese Manaphy. Anyone else use Wi-Fi? It's fun.
Although, if you ask me, the games got more challenging. Especially when Pokemon Types and Stats started to matter. I kind of also like the difference between the genders. And the attack graphics are awesome (Especially Dialga's Roar of Time attack). I don't like Team Galactic though. Bah.
Over here, there were more Diamond versions sold and reserved than there were in Pearl. Why does everyone like Diamond so much? Is it because of Dialga? I chose it because I just like the blue colors, although Palkia is kind of cool.
I reserved Diamond and got it as soon as it came out too, even if I'm not the Pokemon fan I used to be, it's still fun gameplay.
Piplup? Same here, except I named mine Leviathan.(ironic...) But I didn't want to evolve it and it's only a level 38,(I've been working on my Luxray, which I named Vogue and is now a level 52.)but I can breed it later(since I got a girl)and evolve it for data.
Wi-Fi!? That's soooooooooooo unfair!!!!! I wish I could get it, but I don't have high speed iternet.(I'm stuck with lame AOL)I've been trying to figure this out, if I got that USB hookup thing you see at Walmart and EB games or whatever, could I get Wi-Fi? I would LOVE to trade anyone a Piplup if they don't have one.
And yes, this game was alot more challenging. It took me a little over a week to beat this one. The Elite Four took me, like, four straight hours to beat, since I didn't have Rayquaza(Level 70 when you catch it) like in my Ruby and Emerald. The graphics were impressing and Team Galactic sucked.
I chose Diamond because diamonds are a girls best friend! No, not really, I got it because blue is my favorite color, and my brother got Pearl. I'd suppose Diamond is more popular because blue is more popular than Pink. |

Hi Shiloh! It's been a long time since I've heard from you. My parents aren't doing so well with me, they're fighting quite a bit, and they don't let me say the word, "gay' or "faggot" and...they fight so they may be getting a divorce? My father has resent towards me, but....
I just remembered i'm posting in Video Games, not Life Assistance. Not only that, I can't rely on another to solve my problems. |

You knowLakilester... I'm a very patient person but you're really starting to bug me. Could you please stop hijacking my thread? The title of this thread is not 'Lakilester and her many problems'... it's for POKEMON GAMES... which you haven't talked about in any of your posts here save for your first one which was VERY rude. The Video Games forum is as you said yourself not Life Assitence... neither is it Random where you can just willy-nilly yank a thread convo in any direction you so choose.
This is precisly WHY so many people get irritated with you. You make everything to be about yourself. It's very selfish and very annoying.
Don't post in this thread anymore unless you have honest to goodness discussion about the topic at hand.
ANYWAYS...
Back on track...
It took me a little over a week to beat this one.
Wut!? o.o You must have a lot of free time ;_; I got it the day it game out and as of now I've only beaten four gyms... course I been doing far more training the neccissary... trying to evolve all the pokes that evolve through max happiness... lemme tell you Bunneary (or however you spell it) is a pain in the booty to evolve. But it's evo is pretty cool, one of my favorite normal types. |

With me, I've generally tried to beat the Gym Leaders while their last pokémon is still higher levels than mine, and without using items up the wazoo. I figure, if the Gym Leader spends a turn on an item then I can too.
That's one thing that's always annoyed me about RPG's, you can carry a H-U-G-E inventory into battle with you and let it compensate for poor front-line tactics.... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Yeah... I generally hate using items too... And then I can't stand using my TMs... I always end up hording them because I can never figure out who to give them to.
Heh... maybe I should lighten up my training a little ^^ It's not fun when I can totally floor a gym leader using only one pokemon that doesn't even have a type advantage over thiers
ANd Strata.... GET DIAMOND OR PEARL! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!
We can battle over the Wifi.
I also just figured out something awesome the other day. DP supports voice Chat. It really surprised me. All of a sudden after a trade an eerie voice said to me... "Yo what do ya want for your Eevee?" so startled by the sudden voice it took me nearly a moment to reply "He's not for sale..." |
And then I can't stand using my TMs...
Neither can I. The whole "can only use once" rule about TM's, so generally the only ones I've EVER used are the ones you can buy in shops... i.e replenishible....
Back in the 1st generation I used the Missingno. glitch a lot solely to duplicate TM's.
As for buying D/P... meh, I dunno. I'm kinda interested, but it's only "kinda". Nowhere near the "must get" level that was Twilight Princess and Okami. It feels . . . almost like an addiction, even.
And PS, where Wi-Fi is concerned: I've still confirmed only two free wi-fi hotspots in our town. My comp has DSL though, so maybe I could set my sights on the Wi-Fi/USB adaptor method.... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

See, I do that too. Never use any items. But I rely on type advantages to beat gym leaders, but over-level for the Elite 4. At least, that's what I'm doing on Emerald just now. _________________ "You know what? My squirrel instinct tells me he's even more of a bastard than I first thought." - Gene Hunt |

Come to think of it, I do remember giving "Shadow Ball" to my Absol since Absols have a great physical attack rating (and Ghost-type moves are just as effective against Psychics as Dark-type moves, plus the advantage of being usable against Fighters). _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

So did I <3 I loved Missingno. best glitch EVAH.
Thoug I'm considering buying a DS Action Replay just so I can hack TMs so I can avoid doing all the hoarding >.>

That's actually a good idea. Unpredictable too if you playing against other people.
I had an absol too. I lubbed her. Her and her Perish song was the reason I beat those psychic twins in the seventh gym in Emerald. |

Unfortunately I think the Absol I taught Shadow Ball to was a female, aka while this means I can breed Absols up the wazoo, I'm also down a rare TM. Unless you know any compatible breeds which learn Shadow Ball as they level up....
I don't remember how I beat the twins down in Mossdeep; I think it was some combination of Sceptile, Absol, and whatever flyer I had in my party.
Yeah, Flyers are a very common type, and everyone's bound to have a Rock or Electric move somewhere just for that, but when it comes to general field exploration the "Fly" command can't be beat.
That, and the Runningshoes. Holding down a button to run faster goes all the way back to Mario, you should be starting the game with 'em.
Which is one reason why FireRed felt a bit lame to me, you didn't get the shoes until after beating Brock, whereas in Emerald you got the shoes not one hour into the game.
PS: Yeah, I might pick up one of D/P, but I gotta at least see the Elite Four in Emerald first. My last save was right before Aqua awakens Kyogre, though I did play for a bit farther just to see what would happen. Right after Kyogre awakens and challenges Groudon right in the city of Sootopolis, I felt I simply had to complete this leg of the story before logging off. Forget about training or catching wild Pokémon, there were two legendaries making hell out of a city and this was the first time in a Pokémon game where I felt personally obligated to stop them in some way before doing anything else, saving my game and logging off was simply not an option.
In games that permit you to save literally anywhere, moments like that are virtually unheard-of. I've actually come to like games with fixed save points. And not just because they scream "Boss Encounter up ahead!" . _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I've always tried not to use items in battle. I'm such a scrooge. I love hoarding items, even though it's a totally and completely pointless pasttime. 8D
STRATA YOU SPOILED EMERALD FOR ME ;_; but i will forgive you this time.
With me, I've generally tried to beat the Gym Leaders while their last pokémon is still higher levels than mine,
This is actually really easy. For some insanely retarded reason, all trainers always open with their weakest Pokemon, and they never switch out until they've lost some percentage of HP.
So I just mass spam buffs. 8D; I've never had to Baton Pass before, but I could do that too, I guess. These games are a lot easier than the first gen, anyway. |

May is the female rival in the RSE games. She's also Misty's replacement in the TV anime.
I wish rivals were cool like Gary again. |

Misty's replacement. She showed up around the time I lost intrest in the cartoon. I still play the games though. _________________ |
