I swear, I'm missing maybe up to 20 pictures, after the crash I guess they weren't there.

If they were marked as quick sketches (either intentionally or accidentally not clicking "finished piece"), those were deleted then. If not...I dunno.

Yes I had some of mine delted as well. When I first signed up I didn't really pay attention to the quick sketch box. No matter. Just put em up again unless they really were quick sketches Smile

....it was explained... Guess it pretty much proves the reason some people upload 10+ pictures when it very clearly says no more than five.

And if it was marked as a quick sketch, it was deleted because of that. It keeps down on clutter. If they really weren't sketches (that is, they don't fit the definition, which is also explained on the upload page), they can be reuploaded in moderation and marked as finished.

Really, it's no different than oekaki boards. Images that aren't amazing (in the case of this site, "finished") are eventually written over or else there would be a crazy number of pictures. Not an issue space wise, but as far as organization and easy viewing it's best to keep the number of sketches on the site to a minimum. Just look at DeviantART.
