I actually rarely "leave" my gallery area, since my computer rarely loads FAC pics (they either show up as xs, or if I wait for about half an hour, I might be able to see half of the pic. It's not the internet connection, it's my computer :O ). However, occasionally I'll venture out, and check on people who I have on my favorites list.

Therefore, I don't comment that often, so I try to say something worthwhile when I do. I comment if I see a picture that is well-drawn and stands out to me, and shows some effort on the artist's part.

..Although I have left retarded comments on Famira Damaris' gallery. XP

Well, I comment for 3 reasons. Either if their art is really good, if I love it cuz it's for me, or if I'm giving some constructive critisism. What bugs me though, is that constructive crit usually isn't accepted.

Depends entirely on the character of the artist who receives it; artists with good character will accept it anyway. ^_^

EDIT: Thought better of what I was going to say. No need to start an argument in here.

I will say, though, that the artists have a right to disagree with crits. Doesn't mean they aren't accepted. Rolling eyes If I tell someone something is off, and they tell me they don't think so, fine. More power to 'em.

Yup, people have a right to disagree, but those that disagree vehemently are taking it too far.

I saw a drawing earlier today that I had a few gripes about, and I spent most of the comment talking about them. About five minutes later I felt I was being too negative, so I deleted it and wrote a slightly less negative one.

To be honest, giving constructive criticism scares me, because I rarely have any idea what the person reading it is like or how they're going to take it.... which brings to mind one thing I really do like about FAC -- we can delete our own comments! FF.net doesn't allow anybody to retract their comments or reviews. Ever.

I comment when I can tell a lot of effort has been put into a picture. Especially when it's by an artist whose gallery I've been watching for a while. Sometimes it's a really amazing thing to see them improve in a reletivly short time.

I comment because i want to help other people improve. And I guess I have to admit i am looking for attention. I always try to give pointers, but fear of people thinking I'm flaming makes me cushion them in compliments about the well done parts. Mostly i comment on everything i see, but there are a few horrible, horrible ones that i just can't say anything about. If the picture is flawless, i start complimenting on the especially well done parts.

These reasons have probably already been said, but...
1) like the picture...
2) sometimes forced to..lol
3) just for something to do...

Could you shorten your sig a bit? It really shouldn't be any longer than the first two paragraphs you have there... Smile
