lol thanks chux! o i've heard of dream theater but have not listened to them. i'll see if i can find some mp3's or something. or my friend might have their cd...
and tsunami bomb is from california, i believe. one of those beach area places. agent m (gah i wish i knew her real name!) might be originally from england, tho, i don't know. i didn't really pick up a particular accent from her voice, but maybe i just wasn't paying attention. and lol actually since they only have one full album out so far, you pretty got it covered with ultimate escape. the invasion from within ep sounds really good tho. "no good very bad day" is on there, and it's the first song i heard by them. "lemonade" is great too. _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

ahh, ok, I'll look out for that then (the legal way of saying I'll download it)
As for DT, get it get it get it! I try to get everyone to listen to at leats two songs and usually they say "hmm...nah, theyre alright, but nothing special" but I really like them...its annoying that I only find other fans when I see them live. agh
Oh, and I think Agent M is her real name |

I listen really only to J-Pop. People have never heard of (nor understand) the music I like outside of the anime community. But some groups like Rush are okay ^_^ |

I do. Know several people who have been to their shows, as well. Know one chick who fooled around with one of the members, too, but I don't remember his name. Started with an M I think. He sounded nice. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Okay I heard Devo metioned somewhere here, which was the beginings of "the new wave", which is old as hell now. but how about the guys that collaberated in the '70s to produce most of that music genre! Im sure some have heard of Peter Gabriel (Genesis' original psyco singer), and David Bowie (who were all affiliated at one point), but what about Brian Eno and Robert Fripp. they practically built the whole genre with thier money! all four of them were definetly from the '70s LSD era...
they built the genre that produced groups like The Cars, Devo, The Police, The B52s, and many more!
Oh, and what about punk! it seemed to be born at the same time and was lumped together then with The New Wave! everyone always considered it the second coming of the British Invasion, but it was copied from a NYC band that was trying to just consider themselves rock and roll for years prior to The Sex Pistols arriving in America....The Ramones!
cool sh*t like Beat on the Brat (with a baseball bat), I Dont Wanna Go Down to the Basement, Ima Teenage Labotomy, Blitzkrieg Bop, Shenna is a Punk Rocker, I Wanna Be Well, Cretin' Hop, I wanna Be Sedated, Do You Wanna Dance, Rockaway Beach(personal favorite), and many more beat the person next to you to a pulp songs!
odd stuff and odd balls that produced and bought it (me included)! _________________ 'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.' - Ronald Reagan |

I think it's hilarious when kids walk around "Dude, I love punk rock!" "Oh, so do you like The Ramones?" "....Who?...." _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
sometimes Tesla.
I can't stand Tesla's "Caught Up In A Dream"....
Well, I have a few. They aren't my favorites(some far from it), but this wasn't dealing with favs, specifically.
Hell on Earth
Inside Out
Hunger
The Dave Matthews Cover Band
Hell on Earth has issues. <_<
Inside Out is my own. I have to advertise in order to be known. Only about 107 people do, anyways. <_<
Hunger is stupid.
The Dave Matthews Cover Band kills Dave's songs. I hope their instruments are stolen(Dave rocks.)

Wasn't this thread supposed to be about bands no one's heard of but they should look into them? "Hey, they're stupid? Awesome, I gotta check those guys out..."
And I never claimed to be a fan of Tesla. I'll just tolerate them. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

So I'm new on this-- but naturally I went straight for music... god I'm such a music whore (its my life and I'm okay with admitting that)... so no one really does this one anymore... but I'll give some life to it somehow... Hmm who do I know that you might not know...
Well, who I did know... TESLA-- I was gonna go see them in concert on this coming Sunday (July 4th) but yeah... not happenin'... my dad and I had a discussion on them... he doesnt like them anymore... hmm, they have a newish cd, exciting.
Buckcherry, have all their cds.
Flogging Molly-- decently common around here.
Stiff Little Fingers- some people around here know about them including myself.
Harvey Danger was like a one hit radio wonder when I was 8... I remember I loved it... ha.
Catch-22 I know about them.
Reel Big Fish totally ska, but not bad. Kinda makes you wanna prance around in a dance type gallop.
Save Ferris did some good covers and what-not.
Less Than Jake is pretty known around here too...
--- And what do I know...------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll name as many as possible even if they arent my favorites... maybe someone else will love 'em...
Agent Orange
Aimee Allen
Air
Barrington Levy
Baz
Beats International
Belle and Sebastian
Ben Harper
Beth Orton
Big Brother and The Holding Company (Think Janis Joplin people)
Billy J. Kramer (back in the days of the British Invasion)
Blues Image
Blur (you dont know them? How odd for you... ha)
Bo Diddley
The Bouncing Souls (not necessarily my 'style' at all, but "Kids and Heroes" is a good song)
Breaking Point
Bruce Hornsby
The Byrds
Campfire Girls (ironically... none of them are female...)
Canned Heat
Captain Tractor (the last saskatchewan pirate is a FUNNY song but actually a good song considering its incredibly irrelevant? Haha)
CKY (I'm assuming you MUST know about them right? I saw them in concert yesterday-- they were good live considering they got rid of Vern)
Coal Chamber (not good to listen to when you're really pissed off already, haha)
Collective Soul
Country Joe McDonald
Cowboy Junkies
Cradle of Filth
The Creation
The Cult
The Cure
The D4
Damien Rice
Dandy Warhols
Days Of The New
Dio (A short as hell little dude with a MONSTER of a voice)
Donovan
THE DOORS (if you've never heard of them... you're missing out... for starters try out Peace Frog, Moonlight Drive, L'America, Hello I love you, When The Musics Over, Hyacinth House, man they're amazing... give them a try. Yeah I know they're definitely not unknown, but still)
Schatzi
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats it for now, my comp is messing up.
In response to oooollllldd comments-- Billy Talents good, and Dream Theater is decent too, but yeah-- LONG songs. The Cars are a favorite of mine, and The Police is good too (c'mon, Sting people, think about it) |

Tesla. Better than Trixter, I suppose.
EDIT: Oh, and welcome! Maybe now there'll be more than just me and Flea in discussions, with various philosophical inputs from ChrisFox. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
