I don't really consider myself an outcast because preppy nice people are in most of my classes, sometimes I'll end up hanging out with emo posers and anime fanatics because I don't know anyone yet. There are emo posers at my school. Last year, they just started acting emo during the last semester of the school year because of some new kids from the year before. They treat it like its just a type of style or music. I know a couple of people who call themselves emo when they're only trying to be one because their friends are. They don't even act sad or anything, they seem hyper-activated by ninjas or yoai or other stuff. I think its stupid to do that. If you actually ARE emo, then fine; but if your only acting like that to be cool with the emos, then quit f***ing around and telling everyone your emo. The emo poser people at my school probably don't really even know what that means, they just do it because they're being stupid fags. They might not even be emo, they could be stinkin' ska or indie but what do they care? They practically get all their little social groups mixed up. They act like preps are dumb and stuff because this year, one of my old friends from last year was like "why do you shop at prep stores?" just because I wore American Eagle. Even the smart, brainy kids shop there so its not just preps. There's this one kid who rides my bus and he kept calling everybody emo just because they have black/ darker hair (Hispanic,Asian, etc.) and he almost got his a** whooped by some girl from that. I know they're not emo, they're just being stupid. Well, I mean the posers, thats all.

Emo is a style of music.
(Btw, emo and fag are synonyms.)

I love being popular.
I don't get why "outcasts" hate popular people.
We don't do anything [some people at least]. It's not our faults you're shy.
Personally, I don't understand how people are outcasts.
It's not that hard to be popular in school.
Just be funny, outgoing,
and don't be a hideous beast.

really.
that easy.
and anime makes people instant nerds.
I don't know why, but liking anime makes people instant nerds.
At least in good ol' CA.

Wait, outcasts hate popular people?
Last I checked, the unpopular kids didn't give a shit about the popular kids and vice versa.

Well, usually the "outcasts" say we're mean and bitches. Or that we don't like them and make fun of them.
We don't.
Well, most of them.

Because who hasn't made fun of a nerd or two once in a while?

Confused
I forgot that Flagstaff is a gay place and different from the rest of the world.
We have a majority of emos and skaters, everywhere else doesn't.
OK so I still don't experience this. The only kid I really know that is truly an outcast is Michael, and he's pretty easy going and cheerful.
Maybe they hate you but it has nothing to do wit the fact that you're popular?

Well, no, only one girl hates me.
And that's because I hate her.
I won't bore you with the details
But let's just say she's a brat to the biggest extent.

I don't know.
Maybe its just in CA.
But the nerds/outcasts/weirdos hate anyone who isn't like them.
If it's foreign.
They shun it.
It has nothing to do with anyone's personality.
Well, you know, maybe they just hate outgoing people.

Well If you walked up to someone who may be oblivious to anime/manga why must your introduction include that you like anime? What type of group are you looking for? A group of anime lovers? If your year doesn't have the group you are ideally looking for (anime group) don't expect they'll immediately let you in if you say you like anime. There should be people with similar interests even if it's not anime. You can easily draw at home in school books and read manga/watch anime at home. If your friends are interested in it they will ask you. Don't try and ram it down their throats like your trying to convert them to a religion.

Well I'm in a group of guys and girls who have nothing to do with anime and some people who do. I don't think liking anime means anything really... I'm friends with heaps of other people in other groups who may or may not know of anime/manga.

Well anyone will get annoyed when someone else is talking about anime or another subject non-stop (well most of the time) and you don't know anything about it. So that is probably why some of my friends, at first, hated it but now they are cool with it. Plus I don't mix anime and manga with school much. Just talk about some anime with the people who are interested then read manga at home.

I find everyone is nice in my year except some various people who think they're cool by insulting everyone in their sight. The other people who seem/are popular are quite nice but I don't talk to them often. They don't bother me so yeah. Well I actually like my year, better than most since there aren't any outcasts that I know of.

I don't know... I sometimes think people dress up because they want to show they love anime, just for that sake of it and to get noticed. My school has uniforms so they will send you home if you decide to dress up as some character you are obsessed with. That is a bit overboard though... (dressing up to school bit). If you dress up to look like a show off people may not like you... Trying too hard then you have to really. That has never happened but if it was on mufti day I wouldn't mind...

If you decide to join a group and hang around them, they may not like you at first but if you keep hanging around they will get used to you. You will eventually share interests. Usually you make friends with one person or more of that group and they will reassure the rest of the group that you are ok. They are usually very nice and very accepting. People who were mean to you will eventually stop it as they must conform as their friends like you too. That is peer pressure my friends. Well maybe not "must" unless they really do have a problem with you then at least you have friends by your side. Very Happy

If you are widely hated (must be true not just you think everyone hates you), There may be rumours about you and maybe people are scared to make friends with you because they think their reputation will die. Unless you know people who don't care about their social status then yay what are you waiting for? I don't think that is really possible that everyone hates you (sounds like a cliche movie) unless you are used to being independent throughout your whole life and your happy with it then your fine. As long as you have people skills, unless you intend to work in a job where people skills are not necessary. If you are not used to being an outcast then you must be depressed. If joining a group is so hard, go to another school unless your parent/guardian does not approve.

"Sometimes" people will consider gender first, then ethnic, when considering who they will be friends with. Even when we are told appearance doesn't matter and its the inside which does we will consider appearance anyway. This kinda forms groups into one ethnic, one gender, mixed, etc.
Go to the group you seem familiar with unless being independent is you and joining a grup defies your very uniqueness.

Well I draw, but not only anime, so I try not to limit myself in on option of a future art carrer since i'm very interested in art. Realism is still something I must conquer. If I don't, I probably won't be successful in art since most art schools "may" not consider anime/manga type, art. I usually think incorporating any style with CG art, painting or other forms of media would be going to the next level and professionalising your work. I find it will be harder for me in Australia so I should prepare other plans if I happen to ditch art as a future career and keep it as a hobby.

I must write too much if I keep going I will further go off topic.

Meh, I've found a lot of people who like anime and are willing to broadast that to others are pretty weird to begin with, I'm not sure anime is the base reason. It's more of an addition to the oddity.

I use to love anime, but now it really isn't nothing. So you can draw it oh well. It just got boring to me.

I'm gonna have to add to this whole anime outcast thing:

You know anime lovers were 'outcasts' at my school?

The vast majority of them were Japanese majors and did not neglect the opprotunities to screetch half English, half (poorly pronounced) Japanese sentences at eachother before school, between classes, at lunch, after school, and on the bus.

"DUDE KYU-SENSEI HA SUGOI DESU YOOOOOOOO"

"SOOOOU DESU NEEEEE AMIRITE GUYS LOL"

Gosh I wonder why everyone hated them.

There were enough of them that they had their own clique anyway, so it's hardly fair that the called themmelves outcasts.

In my defense, though, the Japanese majors thought all the Art majors were gothlings that cut and drew crappy pictures that always somehow related to them. So. Yeah. Mad Friggin' JP majors.

Edited because I spelled something wrong.

Anime/manga is quite popular at my school. Well, that or it's very tolerated.

Well, I guess it does depend on where you go. If you are at a school where the majority is like anime-obsessed, then, well you fit right in.

I'm not saying that liking anime is an instant in to the nerd crowd. I know several friends that like anime and have a lot of friends and are considered popular. It's just the annoying ones that are "outcasts"

You know the ones, the high and mighty ones. They think they are god just because they watch foreign shows with bright colors.
