A place for abandoned and/or experimental art that won't get completed to get some viewing love.
Lets see the pictures that you abandoned and tell us why they got dropped. Even the greatest artists in the world throw drawings out.
I'll start with this fked up sponge, Sponge Bob Samurai Pants here is being dumped because I am tired of fixing the mistakes in the line work. I started him for a contest but it got old way too quickly and I missed the deadline.

this is whare I was at when I got bored and moved on

like the last one, This one was also a contest wannabe. I just plain boched the perspective on this one. I used to do perspectives all the time and my over confidence got the best of me.

I hated the drawing of the girl. She just didn't look right. I liked the dinosaur better, anyway.
My mom didn't even like my picture. Her reason: people don't ride dinosaurs.

Not approved for my comm arts project. Going with the other concept. Sad.

Got distracted

Lost interest for some reason.

Was gonna be a mock up for a painting project, then I changed to something else and can't be bothered to finish this. Boring. Have Dex/Brian things to do when I get the chance.
There's more, but not uploaded. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Your scrapped work puts my final products to shame.

Aw, TK421, that's not actual hate but just plain envy. (Breloom treats me the same way.)
I don't have any to show right now, mainly because I generally start whatever I finish, even if it takes months. Though I can't seem to find the energy to finish the first two pages in my drawing pad (one of which is this).... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I hate me too.
And one of my drawing teachers is frustrate/amused 'cause he gave us these custom sketchbooks he made that have to be full of doodles by the end of the semester...and all mine look like relatively decent drawings. "How 'bout you draw something in like...30 seconds? Little cartoons?"
He's also the one who rejected those first two sketches (there's a third of Michael, forgot to scan it). Saying the concept had less mass appeal than my other one. Coming from the man who wrote a children's book called "fuck my dog".
Ah well, love the guy, not so hot on comm arts. And little does he know, after establishing he doesn't know Michael Monroe from Tracii Guns...my other concept is gonna be full of hair band people too. He just won't know it. So J.T. http://www.jtsteiny.com/docs/home/home_html/home.html Can't link directly to the book 'cause it has fuck in the url and doesn't wanna work. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. The sketches are awesome, you always get the face perfectly right, like position wise and the features. But that last digital one is unreal. Eyes and skin tones.
I can't digital at all Need moar practice. _________________ |

Wow, I didn't think that was possible. Kinda reminds me of my highschool years where I could never be bothered to put anything in my sketchbook either. Reason why that old thing eventually met the fire. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I love sketchbook assignments, I doodle with a vengence... I can easily go through 20-30 pages a week. I went downtown one day and did thirteen pages of charicatures and gesture drawings in a few hours. Even if I'm just in a restaurant waiting for food, if I've got a sketchbook on me I'll crank out three or four pages of café drawings.
Sketchbooks = easy grades _________________

It's just habit by now. I haven't drawn Tom very much, but Taime...way too many drawings of Taime.
Sketchbooks = easy grades
Yep. I go through pages really quickly too, but...I guess if you look at JT's website you'll see he does a lot of super quick cartoon pen drawings, but mine always just look like...sorta like the first two I posted.

Pencil sketch I slapped some quick digital color on for that Steven painting last semester. Was gonna maybe finish it, but...nah, the painting was enough of that. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Wow, I forgot I even had some of these these pics,
this one was another contest wanna be, little political cartoon about the Wii, it lost its focus and started becoming about Nintendos kiddy image.

I have dumped just short of everything in this book cuz it's too big for me to scan along with some other things

Because although Squid and Papercut_Dragon did a beautiful job of helping me work out the anatomy and all, I never could decide on either inking it or just shading it in pencil, or possibly possibly coloring it.
So, here's it's terrible, final scrap.
