IMG tag limit

I know people have been to at least 1 anime/fangirls/fanboys profile and it took "forever" for the images to load depending if you have dial up or not..

What if we make it, so they only have a "few" images on their profile, and not like 30....?

Reduced IMG tag if that made any sense.

Its already coming into play.
The limit is set to 10 images, the rest that exceed that limit will be turned into direct links.

If people are here because they want to spam their profile with inuyasha wallpapers and not show their artwork, then it might be better if they left.

thus a size limit. At least notify people that there have been too many pics on profiles lately!!! Give them a chance to try and use IMG tags responsibly.

Because it's totally limiting!! There are many other websites that you can move to that aloww IMG tags. And my profile is not too long!!

All I'm saying is to at least sent a warning email to people so they get a chance before they are limited to only 5 STINKIN PICTURES

So they get a chance to what? Incoherently spam the forums with their opinions? Even if you send a newsletter or make an announcement on the front page, nobody's going to read it.

Well, listen. Its no longer a matter of discussion, IMO, 15 too many and 5 too little, 10 is cool.
Expression of self isn't a problem, people can still see your first ten pics (11 counting profile pic and 12 if you do up your av too.) And if they like your first ten and feel like looking, then they are free to look at the others too, they are only turned into convenient links, after all.

Now, given that this site has the proper modules for requesting picture sizes and producing a resolution limit, I haven't had time to look into how well that can be done, nor how easy.
Not to mention that we can't just pick up any random image and scan it for risk of some kind of hack, thus more work in validating the pictures themselves causing both delay and over head for the site, and parse time will be extended to say the least.

The main point here is that no mater what limit we impose, someone will still have a problem with it.
This has been discussed a number of times, now there is a solution.

Rlkitten, your # of images isn't particularly extreme, but the sheer volume of text (9kb, if I'm counting right) is a bit on the large side.

It used to be way longer...I redid it a while back so it only included what I really really wanted on it. About Me info/Fav. Characters/Friends/Requesting Info/ and a little update on I'm doin, which changes size constantly...

And I was talking about an email, not an announcment on the main page. Something saying that use of images on profiles hasn't been used responsibly. Give people time to try and decrease the amount of images on thier profile...
