Im not saying modern rock sucks, most of that whole rolling stones list is more likely to be based on how much impact the guitarist had on

A. The Guitar

B. Rock

Granted Hendrix is a good guitar player, but he is far from my favorite I for one like David Gilmour for his bluesy feel and killer live solos (See Comfortably Numb Live in Delicate Sound Of Thunder). However from my understanding Hendrix did put a noticeable dent in rock n' roll that would forever scar it much like how The Beatles, as well as The Who to even GnR (etc.) did...

So one never knows perhaps Buckethead himself (Or whoever the hell is name is) will make an impact as well.
