The Stranger = Mind $&#*

In AP English we are reading this existentialist book by Albert Camus entitled "The Stranger" and lately I have been noticing some weird changes.

First off they are good changes and sometimes bad. Within the beginning, like the main character (Meursault) I had felt extremely disconnected from everyone and slowly began to revert back to the form I was in in 07 which was really bad. Loneliness is not a word to do this state of mind much justice and it was not until one day I broke away.

For years I have been blind folded, and glued to some sort of conveyor belt leading me to something extremely linear. I had habitualized everyone (the worst was my mother), categorizng people, expecting the something from them always. Then the day came.

I sat in AP class when I looked at the teacher and I realized... I do not know her... I never knew her... why am I in this class. From here I thought I was losing it untilI noticed that when I was in this state of mind everything seemed brighter. No longer was my mother labeled "mom" she was now free of such chains and turned into a "human being". No longer were my friends categorzied by name, if even at all labeled... they were now people.

I ask this of all of you for once in your life not to look at your parents, friends, teachers as their labels... instead see them as beings. The reward can be unbelievable!
