Go Iron Butterfly. I'm all for intoxicated recordings. *nod* Coke, smack, BJ's in the recording booth, whatever. Just makes it better. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Yeah, welcome to FAC Forums. Hope you like us here.
Sorry 'bout that Fallen, just wanted to put my 2 cents in(now I'm a poor, poor, man)......
Music whore? You've come to the right place. I'd love to see your comments on the "Punk Rock" thread.
Geez, I know of a few more unknown bands, but if Fallen had to remind me of the good ones...(otherwise, no one would give a s**t).....
Minor Threat
That's the only good one I know.
And for the record, Fallen, you should check out my band. Oh, wait, Goddamn.our drummer just wasted about 980 bucks on a cell phone!(Over a period of 2 years)
We need to get that drum set! I've been recording guitar(and some scratch vocals, let me put 'em together when I get decent lyrics) and Mike's been recording bass. Ethan needs to either get the set or get the Hell out. I'm sick of his not giving horseshit about this....
Sorry about that, I've been ranting about that since he bought the phone.
I have another one.
The Burden Brothers(I think I spelled that right)
"I don't wanna f**k and I don't wanna fight......"
It's great to play that song when your girlfriend's around..... _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

He says that if I bring it up too much, he'll join another band.
"Dude, I can join another band. I don't even like then name of this one."
"You can do that, and the name sounded a Helluva lot better than Desolate"
"Yeah, so I can still join another band."
"Yeah, so we can still get another drummer. You came in late, Mike and I have been working on this for a year and a half. Your leaving isn't gonna hold the band back."
"........"
"Well?!"
"I'll save up for it..."
Buys a cell phone. Jesus Christ....
Oh, yeah. I have another good band. I forgot completely about this one.
Primus.
Another:
Jaco Pastorius
Jaco Pastorius will always be the best bassist who ever lived on this Earth. He was the Jimi Hendrix of the Fender Jazz Bass. Best of the best. God, I couldn't believe it when I first heard him.
Primus is a fucked up band, but the bass is awesome and the lyrics are stupid, but funny if you realized that they're pretty good for wasted guys.
Primus' bassist is the second best bassist alive today(Flea is first, Tim Commerford(Timmy C.) is third).
I live for the guitar and bass....... _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Peppermint Creeps. Yes. Pictures Just look at these song titles!
Hell yeah.
And ditch the lame drummer.
EDIT: And before anyone thinks "dood, that's ghey", The Creeps are fun. Ain't supposed to be U2. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

We won't ditch him until he makes another mistake, moneywise.
I just heard a band on Late Night with Conan O'Brian. Has a nice guitar sound, but a weird stage performance.
Eagles of Death Metal.
Thanks for downloading the songs. Unfortunately, I've been sitting here all night and I haven't come up with a good sound... Come up with some stuff that would sound kick-ass on an acoustic, but due to budget troubles(Goddammit Ethan...), I'll have to wait. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Hell, in a few weeks, I won't HAVE hair....
Damn ROTC training.... Oh, well. Paintball and rifle practice? It's worth it.
Oh, and a college education. I get that along with the deal as well.
I know a lot of people starting bands(recently I offered to become a bassist of one) but since you can't very well check 'em out, I'll rule this one under "Watch For Them". Might be good, might not. Life's a gamble.
The Blinded
Thank God it's only a temporary name. I told 'em all the bands that start with "The" have burned out real fast since 1990.
Ah, but still the good ol' classics with "The" in there.....
Any band after 1990 with "The"...... burned out. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Prime Sth (yeah thats an "s" I was confused in the beginning... oh well. "Let Me Bleed" is good)
Prozzak ("Strange Disease" is good, hah)
Puya (gotta love hard rock in spanish. But they do have english songs... its good stuff. Especially the stuff they started with)
Ram Jam ("Black Betty" is a classic, dont deny it)
Rancid (not my 'style' really, but they have some good stuff here and there)
Randy Rhoads (think Ozzy)
Rare Earth (good band. They did some Temptations remakes. But "I Just Want To Celebrate" is a classic by them)
Remy Zero
Richie Havens (woodstock)
Rooney (semi popular)
Rufus Wainwright (some really great stuff. He's been in music since he was a preteen. He's gay, but amazing. Check out his stuff)
Rusted Root (try... "Send Me On My way" and especially try "Ecstacy"... again sounds like I'm telling you to try a drug... love it, ha)
Sarah Brightman (was married to Rufus Wainwright... ha... yeah)
Sass Jordan (love her. She has her own site. And I think it might have links to her music? Listen to... "Suns Gonna Rise" and maybe "Pissin' Down")

Ten Years After (woodstock)
Theory of A Deadman (good stuff too. I like them)
Thoughts (British Invasion)
Tommy James and The Shondells (love them. You prob. know some of their stuff)
Tracy Bonham (I really do think shes John Henry Bonhams kid... FYI hes in Led Zeppelin)
Velvet Underground
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Try Finger 11 too. Okay so AGAIN I have to finish that up. But nonetheless, its never really finished is it? |

I've heard of a lot of the people you're listing. Porno for Pyros(RATM loved them), Theory of a Deadman("Invisible Man"), Jeff Beck(awesome guitarist), Rancid, Styx(awesome you knowing the drummers neice), Sevendust, Shinedown(45), definately Randy Rhoads, Rooney(unfortunately), Lou Reed.....
I have very little to offer now........ Unless you haven't heard Alien Ant Farm or Deftones.
Only song by Deftones I like is "My Own Summer(Shove It)" and it's for the bass. Chi Cheng's pretty damn good.
Alien Ant farm is......well, listen to Tony Hawks Pro Skater, you'll get it.
And:
Motorhead
Guttermouth
Adolescents

I definitely know all of them and have heard their music. I didnt add like Alien Ant Farm or the Deftones because I figured they must be known. And yeah I do put known stuff in here and there, but I figure hey someone is bound to not know them and possibly really like them in the long-run. But... I'm not done with my list |

Eventually someone will appreciate the alphabeticle order... haha.
OKAY, SO AGAIN CONTINUING ON... from somewhere in "T"...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Traffic (really like them. "Feelin' Alright" is a classic)
Treble Charger
The Troggs (love them, really do. Again, think British Invasion. Listen to "With A Girl Like You")
Unloco ("Empty" is pretty good)
Unwritten Law
Uriah Heep (one of my favorites again. Listen to "Gypsy" "Rainbow Demon" "Stealin'" and "The Magicians Birthday")
Van Morrison (good singer. "Brown Eyed Girl" is classic and so is "Moondance")
Vanilla Fudge (another favorite. Druggies, hah. Well it was the 60's what do you expect from them? They do some Temptations stuff to. Check out "Street Walking Woman")
The Verve ("Bittersweet Symphony" is good, I honestly really like that song)
The Verve Pipe
Vonray (Try "Inside Out")
The Wallflowers (C'mon, Bob Dylans' kids band)
War (Yup, they too did some Temptations stuff. Think "Low Rider" hah)
Widespread Panic
Wilco (Yankee Hotel Foxtrot *one of their cds* had some eerie relations to 9/11)
Yardbirds (one of the many bands Clapton was in)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs (pretty good for their genre and the fact that its headed by a chick)
Yes (good in concert. Has good stuff too)
ZZ Top (finally inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame which was cool... was gonna see them in concert too on Sunday July 4th... damn)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh I have more, dont you worry.

Too lazy to alphabatize them... (a lot were big at the time, but I think most users here were too young to remember, if they were even born yet. And some were already mentioned, but I don't remember which). And I'm too lazy to comment on most of them. Some I dig, some are so-so, some I love and will swing from their balls for all time no matter how fat and sloppy their lead singers get....

Could go on and on. But after those it's not likely you'd even be able to check them out. Yeah yeah, most of it's hair metal, glam band, AquaNet, butt rock, whatever other stupid name you can come up with that wasn't around at the time. I dunno if those count as "weird music you should be listening to". Big hair, pink spandex, and glitter isn't weird to me, but to each their own. I now return you to your regularly scheduled super serious rock gods. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
