Pick up the pace FAC!

This site hasn't updated in awhile, and loses many members to DEV. I like FAC better than Dievantart, and I think FAC needs some more features and stuff. I can understand no music ( I completely agree) but maybe allowing users to choose what color the website they seen it in or special tweaks or added features? I hate seeing members leave just to go to Dievant art. fac is much better! Very Happy

We do like suggestions, but it's hard to respect one if it comes across as being overly critical or vindictive.

The first and foremost reason for FAC's very slow development pace is simply because we have a very small development team, literally two people aside from cstdenis (webmaster). Both of these people have to work real (paying) jobs for 40 hours per week, which doesn't leave much time for anything else.

As for losing members, a portion of this is due to trolling, which is because we haven't put enough time or effort into anti-trolling tools (see reason #1). We need better logging/investigating tools. We need a Report button. We need comment flagging. We need IP blocking. And so on.

As for the site's design, yes user selectable color schemes are an option, but you don't know just how much work that is to actually do (see reason #1).

aww. well if it weren't for your hard work this site wouldn't be the way it is now.

Why not add more people to the staff? I'm sure there are people here that are good with programming sites.

I know a bit of the basics but I wouldn't be much help.

Do some tests on things they would need to be able to do. I don't know, it's a suggestion.

Though I wouldn't mind helping with the artwork, like new site designs, and themes. The Mascot could use a new make over. =]

imho I think we could do something to promote more traffic over at FUC (Funart Central), maybe more ads, more staff, and stuff to make it appeal to younger members.

It's a vast wasteland now and only Falconlobo posts art there. Maybe you guys could promote more people to join.

I know this is about FAC not FUC but I felt like sayin' this.

Well, I really don't see the point of FunArt. I think that most "fun art" is "fan art", and a lot of crappy pictures go through here anyways. So maybe we should move the FunArts over here to FanArt.

The point of making Funart Central was because people liked the original. (Believe it or not, FuAC is how FAC used to look). Wink

In a way, FAC was "split" into two parts. Are you thinking it should just be FAC again? (Not FuAC?)
