That part kinda bothered me. He only picked her up and carried her because he wanted to get in the boat and not die. I bet she saw her parents fall to their deaths or something. I mean how horrible will it be if you're a scared 8-year-old girl and you get on the[i] Carpathia[/i] and you can't locate your parents?

I would admit that I would be scared and crying, worried why a strange guy was helping me to get on a boat.

If that happened to me I would run around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Trust me I dont like being in a place I dont intend to be and im unfamiliar with. But yeah those poor people, waiting for their loved ones or trying to find them and most never get their wish. In my opinion this was the 9/11 of it's era. A sensless disaster that only brought grief. (The ship crew could have prevented this from happening too.) Why you ask? If they didnt close all the flood gates the ship would have stayed afloat long enough for help to arrive.

I heard about the lifeboat thing. They would put people in lifeboats and the lifeboats would be like half full or barely any people at all.

I remember reading that there was a lifeboat that was upside down and 40 men were standing on top of it.

Hmmm -thinks- I believe when they shut all the flood gates, the water started spurting up through the other rooms MUCH faster than what would have happened if they left the flood gates open instead. The boat would have filled up slower. At least that's what I read.

You got a point there, they are idiots.

I am glad they make ships better now, things are more compact and easier.

Also it would have helped if they had gone abit slower, and didnt misjudge how BIG iceburgs were underneath. I mean really, im glad we are smarter today than we were in the past.

Plus now we have like coast guards and radar to detect any icebergs around, so yeah all they had was two guys in a crow's nest with binoculars.

I agree, that was...an epic fail right there O_o two guys? come on!

Also more about the movie to even things out. Me and my mom know most of the dialouge by heart and we were sooo bored one night we counted how may times Jack's name is said, then Rose's. (There was a Titanic marathon on one of the channels for the anniversary of the sinking) Man that movie is soo sad, makes you want to wish they would miss the iceburg everytime it gets close to that part.
