New Mascot

She honestly has some mental problems. Does anyone know Chris-chan? You can actually look him up on ED, one of few entries on the site that the editors didn't have to change the facts to make it funny.

I'm just wondering what is the benefit of having her on this site. While she and her posses enjoy uploading and viewing their "art", the negative attention that this site gets cannot be ignored. I personally think we should have just told her to improve upon her original art before it could have been approved after she submitted oh-so many pictures, meaning she could have never uploaded anything after that.

I'll have to check this but if my observations are correct, Falconlobo has not only the highest picture count, but also the highest comment count. The comments are very beneficial to the site. Many young users post their works on a site like this for some semblance of recognition and comments on pictures are a major driving factor for this mind set. When a user gets comments on their work they feel better about them selves and continue to post works.

Falconlobo is a bit of a double edged sword. Yeah, here art leaves something to be desired but....she is a commenting machine though.

Falconlobo may be very repetitive with her comments, but at least she's contributing something. Some artists don't comment squat and complain about not getting any comments back. I remember when she commented me for the first time, I saw her as any other artist that appreciated my art. ;] Nowadays, her comments don't make the same affect, but it's the thought that counts, so it's no fair to talk about her like this. She probably gets all kinds of behind-the-scenes criticism like this and it hurts her feelings.

That's unfair. How would you like it if the administrators said they won't improve your art because it's bad? That's a blow of confidence, and you'll find your art not worthy enough and not even try.

Alright guys, we should get back onto the subject of mascot concepts.

And No, Falconlobo will not be designing the new mascot, yes she is the biggest contributor to the site but we need something a little more finely honed than what is within her level of experience.

Also, I am not going to endorse another contest for the site logo like we had the last time. The original Pheral design lasted from 2004 to 2007, the current Pheral design came in in 2007 and there are a few who have been complaining since it's incorperation. Never the less three years seems to be the termination point, so yeah, it's time for something fresh.

I have a few ideas on a Pheral redesign but let's keep pondering ideas shall we.

I just realized. If we wanna try that multiple mascot ideas, we'll have to wait for the new layouts to come out. Since it's so slow, I think we should just choose a main mascot now for the time being. GOD DANG it I don't see where we can create a poll.

A new cat design would be REALLY cool. Seriously. I support the penguin and ferret the most cause they penguin mixes with the color layout and ferrets are feisty and awesome. ;] However, maybe making an even cooler version of the cat would be cool too. I don't want to dump the cat...we;ve had it for so long. ;__;

Then start designing a new cat....

I'm sitting here teaching my self how to draw cats specifically for this project, contributing more than idle suggestions would be nice. Mascots shouldn't change over time, just look different when the need comes.
