I'm not saying get rid of the cat, by any means. I just think that having a human mascot in the foreground would make our site look as if it is focused on a wider range of art. Not only that, but it will help to support the older/more serious community coming into FAC by giving them something more to relate to.

While we had the old template, and the multiple logo/header images, FAC had much better traffic. This isn't attributed solely to the image in the header, of course, but having the "right stuff" in the most viewed part of FAC will definitely give a better feel to all of our users, not just the children that post here daily. It is very important that web-surfers and potential users [b]like what they see first[/b], even before searching the site's content. That is a key factor in driving traffic, and having that traffic return.

That is also the reason I support multiple header images, to maximize our site's subtle influence on our user base. That tiny influence has a huge impact on how users react to and use our site. And I think that seeing a festive logo on the site again would be really nice.
This website was the first website I had ever subscribed to, and I have quite a bit to thank both Denis and FAC for. I'm not shooting to change FAC, I just want what we had to come back.

Well after all the designs I saw, I think I wouldn't be unfair to the others if I say that Gety's would fit perfectly as a website mascot, and I personaly think that the whole website theme should be changed to a more colorful one, since you wanted to breathe some "FRESH AIR" that would refresh the whole website and would bring more life to it x3

Lol, I adore #1: interesting pose and it's adorable.

#2 is a little bland

#3 is too constricted(not sure if that's the right word for it...) Sad

Here's my take on Pheral, I found it a little too girlish, so I turned it in to a tomcat.

I also found it a bit lacking so I added red bandana and yellow boots, along with the blue fur color there's a bit of primary color scheme going on (BTW, it's not red, green, blue, that's only for light displays and don't apply to paint).

This was a rough sketch of the design and the color, I'm gonna reduce the size of boots...

The first cat is nice face-wise except those abnormally fat legs irk me.

I like the second cat a lot. The pose is interesting and the puffy, messy fur is good. The paw detail is a good plus too.

Don't draw human-like eyebrows because that'll look weird. Go for the top shading over eye like this. If you want:

Yeah, the eyebrows and the hue looks good. I like that color on it, I'm gonna make it a little bluer. Now I look at it, it doesn't seem weird to have blue fur like that.

Those colors should extend to the infrared and ultraviolet regions. Why stop at just the visible spectrum? I demand moar.

I like the bandana. Not sure about the boots. They could work, but I think I'd have to see it neater/colored to make up my mind.

CRwixey's design is too colorful. It looks more like a Lisa Frank girly rainbow explosion than a website mascot. Too much color isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if it's too complicated, it's annoying for other artists to duplicate.

I added boots so there was a bit of "Puss in boots" going on. That way you could have Sam in there as a modern day princess or something.
