Pheral Redesign

I was pretty bored so I thought I do another design, this time its Pheral. I saw that you like the classic Pheral style so I tried to draw it that way but with more extras...Tell me if something is wrong, I may correct it when I have time :3
Oh and also very nice job Gerudowolf, I like the skirt very much

I mentioned this before but green red and blue are not primary colors when paints are considered. It's cyan, magenta and yellow. RGB is only used by light displays.

I like that. There's just a couple things wrong. The eye and ear on our right are out of proportion, and the paw prints on our right are off perspective. Also, the shading on the palettes closest edge is weird. May I suggest lose the "FAC" letters, and maybe have the paw prints colored paint. And instead of the color stripes, make it a mess of colors that Pheral has stepped in, and he should have paint on his paws.

Also, people, stop using "boredom" as an excuse to draw or make topics.

I kind of like a darker, more cat-like look to Pheral, but I have to say somehow that dark blue splash in the background makes him look evil.

I edited Pheral like you said, and took that splash that made him look so evil, thanks everyone for helping with suggestions.

I like the aggressive stance and I really like the second one with out the splash.

I do have to suggest he be lightened up a bit. Going from a grey to black cat is not really the isssue so much as it is the halloween feel it produces. I like the darker color scheme but, There are websites on the internet that are dedicated to halloween festivities and the like (I'm friends with a person who was formerly an admin on one such site) this could cause some issues. I think a dark grey would be better than black.

At this very moment no, we want to gather as many ideas as possible. It really would be great if we could get a good handfull from a single artist even. That would make it easier to have a rotation of them.

Each version you make it looking better.

The body and overall composition are very nice. I like the font choice, etc in the first one. But I still see a few things that could be improved.

* Ears are a little too elongated. Looks like another kind of animal than a cat (tho I'm not quite sure which animal)
* Mouth seems kinda overly pointy too, and the face in general doesn't look quite right. Addition of whiskers may help.

Thank you..but here are really so many different tastes I don't know which one to listen to, I made this Pheral look a bit like the classic one cuz everyone seems to like that (I mean the large ears)it was not supposed to look like a real cat, that would be pretty boring for a mascot don't you think?
According to me I wouldn't even use a cat as a mascot, I would use my own ideas to create a new one, the problem here is that ppl have so many ideas of their own mascots so I don't know...I can't make a perfect mascot that everyone would like.

The big ears aren't an issue in themselves, it was more the aspect ratio of them I was referring to. I took about a dozen pixels of height off the middle of the left ear in mspaint and the ratio seemed better.

Looking again and doing a little testing, I think the main issue with the face was the red eyes make it look evil. Seems to be better with black pupils with a yellow iris like the classic colors (but with your better drawing style).

Well....He (cstdenis) is the primary one to impress being the site owner, yeah the other admin and site staff have input but in the end he is the one who will be putting together the rotation. Yeah you are right, there are so many different tastes and thoughts as to how to proceed, but that is a large reason we are taikng this approach. to get an idea what the user base realy has on their mind.

I'd get rid of the smears on the palette. Somehow they don't look quite right. More like.. floating blobs of color over the picture instead of paint.

8D Gety, I adore that cat more than any cat on this thread. The pose is a plus; it adds a bit of spunk.

That's right, listen to Denis first, and if people are throwing their preferences on your picture, it's probably that way because your picture has a lot of potential. C;

Adding in a black pupil would make the cat look a little more friendly, and if you can, make the tail not so fat at the end because the est of it is pretty skinny.
