since when was white background ever a bad thing? All your pictures have white backgrounds.

Some people I know are very picky via artwise. My super old art teacher for example, never liked white backrounds. (Thanks to her nagging all my old shaded pics have backrounds, and cant fit on my scanner considering how large they are in size.)

For example, she turned down an amazing picture of a fairy someone in my class did cause it had no backround, though it did have a shadow. Talk about picky. (Some of my pics have backrounds...o3o)

Most people I know think white backgrounds are OK, but you shouldn't ever use the white on printer paper. Painting over it white is absolutely acceptable.

I like white backrounds myself; I mean it isent right to turn down a wonderfully detailed picture that someone probly worked hours or days on, just because it lacks a backround of interest; like my teacher did. =3=

Then again no one in my school ever liked her to begin with cause she was sooo anal about pics. Only pics she ever smiled at where bowls of fruit and plants.

Someone should take a gander at this, pretty damn good for a first try at Simba if I do say so myself, and the way they had the rain interact with him is good too, as in they didnt just focus on him alone.

I've seen other attempts at that screenshot that look stale compared to this though on TLKFAA. o3o gotta at least give the artist credit though.

SweetxinsanityxSarah, eh. Some of this artist's other stuff is better. That particular one is ~~too reminiscent of Twilight~~ kinda weird because the texture on the background makes the background look in focus, but the actual figure is all smudged and blurry.

luckylace222, not bad. I'd feature something by this artist in the future. There's a general rule that we don't feature even good pictures if that picture is one of the first few uploads (and that picture is the only one that artist has uploaded). This is to lessen the chance that a stolen picture is featured.

EDIT:

How about this one? Despite it being sketched I still love the shading job on it and how close they got it to looking like the actual character. (The eyes and helmet along with the work on the sword are my favorite parts.) Dont have to look at it right away but you can give it a look over when you feel like it.
