I read the Twilight books up until the fourth one just to see how bad it gets. It's like all the terribad and cliche Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu fanfictions ever written were rolled up into a series of books with a "vampire" theme. If you want to know how bad fanfiction can get, you need only read the Twilight books.

Whoever gave Stephanie Meyers a publishing deal must have been drunk. Her stories don't belong on bookshelves, they should be buried in the deepest recesses of the Internet.

That is all.

I am soooo half tempted to print all these comments out and hand them to giddy giggling Twilight fans to show how horrible their taste is. xD

I didnt even get through the first book, got up to chap 13 when he was all sparkly, then I put it down and took some tylenol from the headache I got from seeing the words "Beautiful" "Handsome" and "Gorgeous." in one too many paragraphs or sentences.

Alex Louis Armstrong should sue Stephanie Meyer for stealing his sparkling ablity.

If you want to try to get technical, and completely disregard what they obviosuly meant by "real"

Then they are still correct. An example of "real" vampires would be the species of bats, and pretty much anything else that sustains itself from a host's blood.

You are off course, correct.
Vampire bats do in fact sleep in coffins.

I wish they had those kind of bats over here. They are the shiznat.

However I think they meant 'real' as in true kick ass vampires who will be remembered far more than a simple sparkly pixie who eats mountain lions.
Cullen is just the backstreet boy of vampires. Only capable of attracting old women and giddy highschool girls.

Alucard, Dracula, Abel Nightroad, Lestat, that guy from Forever Knight, etc.
Those are some of the vampires that stand out in the fictional vampire universe.

It is a terrible book. It has no plot and the characters lack personality. The only reason Bella likes Edward is because he's hot and the only reason Edward likes Bella is because she smells nice. It's not a story of love it's a story of LUST. and they totally fucked up vampires. He frickin' SPARKLES.

I find it hilarious that the people who hate Twilight the most are the same anime kids who gobble up any 3rd rate tripe Japan shits out.

It's uncanny man.

Oh shove it Tyler. I have a right to say the books a peice of crap CAUSE I READ IT. Waste of time but glad I didnt buy it.

FMA, Hellsing, Gundam Wing, Witch Hunter Robin, and the ghost in the shell series plot lines and characters, along with their personalities run CIRCLES around these retarded Twilight characters. Twilight is pretty much like a horrible sappy mary sue vampire fanfiction with the way it was written. It felt as if I was reading a grade school book you find in a literary text book at school the writing sucked more than Paris Hilton. Handsome and gorgeous and beautiful were the only every other thing that was said about Cullen. Would it kill Stephenie Meyer to pick up a damn dictionary every now and then to find more creative ways to describe Edward without sounding like a teenage hormone crazed giddy highschool girl that says 'like' and 'omg' in every other word? You want creative writing that makes you feel as if the character is living and breathing, and described with such perfection it makes you either impressed, or want the character? Read this mofo.

"I want to be a saint. I want to save souls by the millions. I want to do good far and wide. I want to fight evil! I want my life-sized statue in every church. I'm talking six feet tall, blond hair, blue eyes-.
Wait a second.
Do you know who I am?
I'm thinking maybe you're a new reader and you've never heard of me.
Well, if that's the case, allow me to introduce myself, which I absolutely crave doing at the beginning of every one of my books.
I'm the vampire Lestat, the most potent and lovable vampire ever created, a supernatural knock out, two hundred years old, but fixed forever in the form of a twenty year old male with features and figure you'd die for-and just might. I'm endlessly resourceful, and undeniably charming. Death, diease, time, gravity, they mean nothing to me.
Only two things are my enemy: daylight, because it renders me completly lifeless and vulnerable to the burning rays of the sun, and conscience. In other words, I'm a condemned inhabitant of eternal night and an eternally tormented blood seeker.
Doesn't that make me sound irresistible?

And before I continue with my fantasy let me assure you:
I know how damned well how to be a full-fledged, post-Renaissance, post-nineteenth century, post-modern, post-popular writer. I don't deconstruct nothin'. That is, you're going to get a full-dress story here-with a beginning, middle, and end. I'm talking plot, characters, suspense, the works. I'm going to take care of you. So rest easy and read on. You won't be sorry. You think I don't want new readers? My name is thirst, baby I must have you!"

~Lestat's introduction from Blood Canticle

(All without saying beautiful, gorgeous or repeating a sexy appearence like phrase twice.)

If you post that tldr crap, you fail at life and that means I win.

This guy is known by any true vampire fan not just for his looks but for his egotism that makes you love yet hate him and for his charm and brat prince like tendencies and his occasional suffering showing he actually has a heart, but all cullen is going to be remembered for is a sparkly mountain lion eating fruit. And Jacob as a muscular macho man always showing off his chest. (I'll give credit to Ed with one line he said to Bella in the previews where he says. "Doesnt he own a shirt?")

Screws Cullen and Jacob. I play for Team Lestat, Team Elric, and Team Kiba (Wolf's rain.)

tl;dr

Well

That's a lie. I read the first sentence.

Gundam Wing was just as shallow and mediocre. All 5 of the main characters represented different archetypes, pandering to different fangirls. If you think that anything like that is any better a quality fiction than Twilight you're a delusional, immature child. In truth, very, very few pieces of fiction have any true substance or value, aside from entertainment, which is subjective in nature, and in that regard, should not be argued in comparisons by any able-minded adult.

But you wouldn't know much on the subject, would you?

Ah yes, but you dont see huge statues of Twilight characters erected in Tokyo Japan now do you? Personally I think transformers is much better than Gundam wing. I tossed the name out there, cause I think it's going to stand the test of time a tad bit more than Big O and Bleach.

The other titles though, I have seen when I am able to. Cause keep in mind unless you got cotten lodged in your arrogant ears I have dial up and a slow ass computer, hence no access to anime torrents. Adult swim, chiller, and syfy are my only means of anime watching. But I will prove how those titles make Twilight a joke. Even if I have to waste MORE of my life reading her craptastic novels and seeing how and why I lean towards Anne Rice's novels and anime more. Also Blood the last vampire (NOT the LIVE ACTION MOVIE) is another well written movie without the need of sparkling male fanservice. Wish it could have been longer though.

btw you fail for not reading the whole thing. Kthx bai immature jerk. Dont talk to me again if your just going to call me simple minded just because you dont like me. I have my own opinions and calling me simple minded is the most immature comeback that as spilled from your fingers. Equal to that of saying "Whatever hur hur you dumb."

Please don't take this the wrong way, but you are all taking this far too seriously.

All of you. Sarah, Cephias, and others who have been arguing relentlessly for the last ninety one posts.

Cephias you had a mediocre point in the fact that is simply a story who's main value is entertainment, but you are obviously far to rooted in whats written to see what is not. Every story from Twlilight to Gundam to Seize The Night to Spongebob have a moral to teach if only it's searched for.

Now I'm not an expert on this so it's no use calling on me to point each one out. Some are far more abstract than the simple tales you heard as a child like the Boy Who Cried Wolf.

I have not read Twilight and do not want to. It does however represent the Moral of Understanding. It was not made to appeal to fans of Anne Rice or of the original Dracula books or for those who appreaciate plots that create situations that make the reader feel emotionally one with each character.

It was, how was it put again? Oh yes, "Plotless trash written for emotionally tweenage-level girls." I'm sure that's not a perfect quote so please forgive me if it's not, but it stand as truth, even though it is quite rude.

Twilight was written for tweenage girls just discovering their sexuality and their emotions. Some people never really pass that stage so it is no surprise that some people still find it entertaining at advanced ages.

I repeat when I say that it is not meant to be all of those things I said before. An overly emotional, somewhat neurotic, and totally obsessive young girl would not understand nor enjoy Dean Koontz, or Anne Rice, or even Tite Kubo. They want something that appeals to their stage of development and that is exactly what twilight is.

I'd go into the morals of the other stories stated, but I find that it is not the appropriate forum to do so and shall simply leave it at the fact that, in a way, all fandoms represent the Moral of Understanding and Acceptance.

I absolutely hate Davis Motomiya of Digimon, but I understand and accept that others love him. My simple and elagent solution for dealing with these fans is avoidance. If you do not like Twilight do not approach it. If you do not want to talk about it with its fans do not approach them. You have to Understand and Accept the fact that they are not you and will not always agree.

And on a final note, a second reitteration. You all take it far too seriously. Whether you hate it, love it, or have no opinion, you take it too far into our world when you feel the need to shove your opinion down other people's throats like a Jehova's Witness.

Hell hath no fury like the dragon. Well put LDD and no I'm not mad at you. xP

I wasent shoving it down anyone's throat, im quiet as hell when it comes to these groupies zooming about the library. I only state my opinion when they open their mouths to me about it. However the final straw in the camels back was when someone who didnt even KNOW me was soo quick to judge me. Accusing me of saying I joined the Twilight hating bandwagon cause it was cool when I didnt. I just wanted to get that clear to those who would also dare try to think this.

Also I too do not hate others for loving Twilight, I respect their opinions cause some of my good friends like the series. But if those who like Twilight dare try to yell at me for not liking it, that's when I get angry.

I dont take this conversation seriously, I am kinda amused though that tyler was trying to criticize me on my points though when Twilight is nothing to praise.

Thanks for your opinions LDD xP
Now after getting the facts straight on why I do not like Twilight. I bid thee farewell cause being in this topic gives me hives.

Hate my opinions or love them the choice is yours. Just dont mock me for them for we all have our on points of view in life. Ta! <333

The book it's self is does not have too bad of the story line. It's just that the Characters turned it into a piece of s**t. And since when are vampires suppose to be beautiful?

Interview with the vampire, the vampire chronicles of Anne Rice, Forever Knight, The Lost boys, Trinity Blood. These vampires have both character and beauty to them, plus they can kick your ass if you arent careful. But look good doing it.

However the Twilight vampires lack character. All they can depend on is their beauty and sparkles plus threats to their love interests saying they could snap their neck soo easily isent very much of a turn on. Sorry but these vampires are fail just depending on their looks, they are the laughing stalk of the vampire world in litature and the movie business.
