Unpopular Desision

I know a lot of people won't like it, but maybe it would be a good idea to get rid of the entire rp and games threads. It used to be fun, but the last couple of weeks these threads have become so incredibly lame. Anyone else feels the same way? Because I think it's not good for the overall level of the forum if there are too many lame people.

(Not sure if this is a pet peeve or a site suggestion, but since I want this to happen, I guess it's a suggestion)

I've heard you and sirius complaining about this for awhile. I thought you were just annoyed at one or two people. But for you to suggest this, makes me rethink that idea over. I have no idea what say on this personally. the few times i have gone into there, it's been just overloaded and a bunch of bullshit in my eyes from the beggining.

Personally, i'd love to see them go, at least the RP. But it's not my decision, that remains to Denis's only. But the fact that you and sirius are complaining about it to this degree, worries me slightly. :huh:

It's the forgotten room no one goes into. Just ignore it. If we didn't have it, those types of threads would spill over into every other forum. I just don't go in there and let them be dull and tedious in their own little section where I don't have to close them.

People seem to enjoy them.
They dont hurt anything (dont like them, dont read them, I dont.)
They dont take up an overly large amount of resources of the site (Tho deleting the big old dead ones may be a good idea)

Why? Same forum, different name. Neither boosts post count. If people want to RP, let 'em RP. They'll do it no matter what, and I'd personally rather see it in a clearly designated area that I can choose to not enter. I don't see how it bothers anyone. Getting rid of the forum won't get rid of the threads.

The problem is, RP and games used to be fun but now it's not. And the amount of crap that's being written, well I think sooner or later those people are going to post on the other threads too. Oh well, at least when the time comes I'll be able to say 'told you so', although I hope it won't come to that and I'm just being pessimistic.

Nah, they used to post on other threads and in the main chat room. That's [i]why[/i] we made the separate boards, to make them move. You're thinking in reverse, my friend. We've been through the RP issue many a time, and the separate area where they can kill and fight each other day in and day out seems to work well. Yeah, I think it's stupid too, but better there than having to suspend people for doing it elsewhere. If we get rid of the boards there'll just be a bunch of misplaced threads, even if we change the forum description of SPAM to include RP and games. People don't like to read. And it's easier, for those who like such things, to find a game or RP thread when they have their own board instead of being lost in SPAM. It's not hurting anything. The same amount of resources are used either way.
