Cannot see image

A new user says when she uses the img tag, her pictures do not pop up. When I use the img tag for that same link, the picture pops up just fine for me. Is there a bug?

Off the top of my head, the img tag probably requires the http:// to work. Also is affected by the image viewing limit in the user's profile.

There's a hidden anti-troll measure that the IMG tag won't get parsed if the user is recently registered. (denis: see /comments.php lines 611 and 869).

There is nothing wrong with how she typed the comment.

Wow! I did not know about that measure. That is actually pretty smart. I assume this measure is automatically lifted after a certain time has passed?

I'll have to look into including that in the new version at some point.

Unfortunately, doing stuff that fancy is kind of a pain with the new bbCode parser based off HTML_BBCodeParser (had a hell of a time with the image limit, tho the final solution turned out to be pretty simple)

Is that the PEAR based parser? I looked at it once, but it seemed pretty limited.

Basically, when individual comments are displayed it checks the poster's registration date and if they are relatively new it tells the bbCode parser to ignore IMG tags.
