No, when I try to log in (to the Admin control panel, I'm automatically logged into the forums) my name is displayed in the appropriate space as "Fallenangel (fallen)" It won't accept that, though. I have to delete the "(fallen)" and leave just my sn for it to work.

I suspected as much, that you only have to type in your screen name to log in. Therefore, entering/changing the Real Name field should pose no problems for forum login....

Ah, well then, I haven't had to log into the forums in quite some time. Just the admin part where it puts in your name for you. So I guess this person is SOL. Razz

If an artist recolors an official image and claims they drew it, that is stealing. Please report it to the abuse email address with a link to the stolen piece and the original.

How long it takes to be approved depends on many many factors. How many mods are on, the time of day, even what mods are on. If there's a bunch of anime pictures in line, and I'm the only mod on, half those will probably stay there because I don't know any of it. The number displayed is total number of pictures waiting from all artists.

As for that last comment, I'll say it again from another thread. The Help forum is NOT here to magically make all problems go away. There are some things that are just bugs and not easily fixed, so the best anyone can do is explain what's going on.

You assign rating, title, etc. during the "Add Picture" process. Afterwards, simply go to your profile page (memorize this link: www.fanart-central.net/user.php?aid=______ -- you can use it to look up any FAC artist), there will be an "Edit" link next to each picture of yours, you can use to update/change title/summary/etc. info if needed.
"please wait within 8 hours you will be notified by email if your pic has been rejected or not." Do I have to actually wait 8 hours . . . .
Actually, the message is:

"Your picture has been queued for approval. You will receive an e-mail if it is rejected. Images are usually approved or rejected within 8 hours. Often much faster."

As Shadow explains, yes it's normal and it happens to everybody. Depending on who's on the approval panel and when, your art could get approved within five, ten minutes, or within the hour. The "8 hours" figure is just an estimate, 'tis all.

If it was colored before and it's official art, plus you submitted it or someone else submitted it, that person has stolen official art and should be reported. Was it colored before and is it official art?

It's how much work the Approval Panel has to do to make the most recent pictures available.

At the top of the main page you should see a button that says "add picture." Click on that, then choose the method that you want to use to add yer picture, and it should be pretty straight forward from there. Wink

I was just wondering, does the "Approval Queue" have anything to do with me?

Ah, here we go again . . . read through the previous posts, dragon. The Approval Panel exists for the benefit of everybody, and the "Approval Queue" has been explained at least twice already. No, it doesn't have anything to do with you. :)

Hey fallen, denis, whomever, do you think there should be a "What's the 'Approval Panel' and 'Approval Queue' all about?" question in the FAQ for stuff like this? Oh wait, there already is a thread for that . . . should it be appended to the main FAQ?
