Chronicles of Marnia series, His dark materials series & any scary book by Phillup King. Oh, & Farhenheit 451 (I think, & I think I spelled it wrong too.) but yup, I'm a sucker for scary books or fantasy ones. ^_^ |

I had to do one ages ago, but it had to be solely about Atticus. _________________ "You know what? My squirrel instinct tells me he's even more of a bastard than I first thought." - Gene Hunt |

I like the "Series of Unfortunate Events" books. The later in the series you read, the more wicked it gets... _________________ "Have you ever had the odds stacked up so high

I'd look forward to "Of Mice and Men" but considering I'm being forced to read that in my LA class this semester for Honors I'm not all that giddy about it.
Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay is great. It's about a serial killer...Who kills serial killer. The voice is great and the plot is so different from what you usually see. I loved it and read it over and over and over...
Farenheit 451 is a beautiful book. It's so disturbing, but I think it's much better put together than 1984. George Orwell Whats-his-face didn't nearly put the effort into his book like he could've. Animal Farm wasn't that bad, though.
I like intrigue  and mystery.
Despise romance with a passion...Makes me ill to my stomach.

After the first six books of that series, none of the kids had died. Needless to say it got really boring. _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. This message brought to you by Marlboro.

I would have to agree...I also thought that they became even more and more depressing. Though the title "Series of Unfortunete Events" should've given me a clue. And they did get old. It's time that Count Olaf starts suffering from Alzehimers or cancer or dementia...Just to make the plot more interesting and, in a sense, realistic. Maybe THEN the books would have spunk. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

My favorite author is Kelley Armstrong (Bitten, Stolen, Dime Store Magic, Industrial Magic, Haunted, and soon, Broken). She's an awesome author. She takes supernatural events and creatures, puts them in a present-day city, and makes them look perfectly normal. You know she's good if she can get you to believe that werewolves could be running around your city even as you breathe. And Cassandra, the vampire? She's just awesome. Not because she's a vampire--because she's so bloody hysterical. Pun intended.
Tanya Huff's Keeper series (Summon the Keeper, The Second Summoning, Long Hot Summoning) is also really good. Tanya Huff is the most random author I have ever read. According to her, there have been two occasions in history where evil won a significant victory over the forces of good and caused a gigantamongous catastrophe. The first resulted in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the destruction of Pompeii. The second, in disco.
Gotta love the randomness. ~.^ _________________ Disgaea's Overlords Dance in Worlds Beyond Infinity while Mifuyus Magical Multiplying Mole reads the epic Chronicles of Yord, and you learn that your Craving for Finding a Heart of Snow is Taboo in VG unless you dare undertake The Combine of Sin... |
