The title pretty much explains it. No fangirls squells or "KAWAIII!!111212421!!!"
everyone can rate any Anime, but do not introduce another until the rating on the current one is done
Rating scale: 1-10
Now Rating:Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Music: The music is amazing. "Inner Univers": although it only allows you to hear a little part of the opening, it is a hit instantly. The melody flows nicely with the opening cut scenes. Also the music inside the anime creates an element that makes you feel as thought you are inside the anime.
Animation: The animation is smooth. The flooed motion of the characters, scenary, and surrounding never stop moving. just like the real world.
Story: The story is complex. A puzzle. A rubix cube that makes the whole story connect. Laughing man is the main plot, i think.
So here are my ratings
Music: 10/10
Animation: 10/10
Story: 9/10 a little to complex for the "less educated". but then again, they shouldn't be out of their cages |

Mm, Saiyuki. A long-time favourite of mine.
But when you say Saiyuki, which one do you mean? Gensoumaden or Reload [Gunlock]? Because those two are quite different (both of which are quite terrible, but Gensoumaden moreso). _________________
Gensoumaden, I apologize for not being more clear on that one.
No need to apologize. ^__^ I'll rate Saiyuuki now, but there's too much for anyone to really read, I suppose. ^^; It's my favourite anime, so it's also the one I know most about.
-----------------------------------
Rating scale: 1-10
Now Rating: Gensoumaden Saiyuuki
Overall rating: 7.5/10
-----------------------------------
Music: 7/10
The music for this anime is okay, but not anything special. For Part 1, the opening theme (For Real) is decent, but the ending theme (Tightrope, not to be confused with Requiem's TIGHTROPE) is disgustingly poor. I can't listen to that at all. The actual background music is quite nice, and usually fit the mood quite well. The insert songs were nicely done. In my opinion, the insert theme they use quite frequently (Open Up Your Mind) is much better than the opening and ending themes.
Part 2, Homura's arc... They still use many of the same tracks for background music. The opening/ending themes have changed, for the better. The new opening theme, Still Time (performed by Hidenori Tokuyama, same as first season) is much better (atlthough the guitar intro to For Real was nicely done). The new ending theme is much better, thank God. The new ending theme, Alone, is your average jpop. I like the tune of it, but I've heard better music.
Brushing on the image songs for Gensoumaden... Having not actually been played in the anime, I'll try to keep this short, but... Ishida Akira, as good a voice actor as he is, absolutely cannot sing. Definitely tone deaf, and even he knows he's nnot good at sinnging (that's why his music is rather rare, he usually does not do image songs). Sanzou's voice actor, Seki Toshihiko is great as always, but, noticiably, his voice tends to go quite high when he's singing, not at all like Sanzo. Hoshi Souichirou has a good singing voice, as always, and he sounds adorable. ^_^ Hiroaki Hirata is also a good singer, and he retains his deep voice while singing, too.
Recommended Music:
TV OST:

06 - Hakkai's Theme
10 - Gojyo no Sekiyou
11 - Hakkai Flashback
16 - Asa no Shizuku
35 - Eiketsu
36 - Rakarui
37 - Wakare
40 - Omoi Midare
42 - Tomatta Sekai
43 - Hitamuki na Hito
49 - Shizuka ni[/list:u]Yeah, I'm a sucker for soft themes, especially piano music. ^^; The tracks 35 and onwards in the TV OST are Homura's Arc-exclusive, I believe.
Image Songs:

Sanzo - the clouds break; shangri-la
Goku - I can fly
Gojyo - Rebirth
Hakkai - [if you know what's good for you, then...] none[/list:u]Since Homura only has one image song, I didn't feel it was worth mentioning. Kougaiji's image songs aren't very good because, although Takeshi Kusao is a great singer (DNAngel's Rakuen ~fanatic~), they don't maximize his potential in Saiyuki. And his songs just aren't very well written (I'm looking at you, Turnabout Rock & Roll!!, the Elvis-incarnate. XD ).
Other Tracks Worth Mentioning:

Anything piano
Anything music box
Manabu Enuma - Red Criminal[/list:u]
-----------------------------------
Animation: 6/10
Absolutely terrible. Not Weiss Kreuz-terrible (and when I say Weiss Kreuz, I mean episode 1's flaming motorcycle. The rest of the time it seems to be decent), but terrible all the same. Rather than actually making animated fight scenes (bad choice, seeing as this is an action anime, afterall), the characters just strike poses and go flying across a rather bland (solid-colour) background. The characters go out of proportion a lot, and, although Sanzo is supposed to be somewhat effeminate, they just go overboard with it entirely too often. Considering the year it was animated in I expected much more out of Saiyuki.
On the flip side, the colours are nice, bold, and refreshingly bright. (Kind of sad how that's the only good thing I can get out of my "favourite" anime. ^^; )
-----------------------------------
Story: 8/10
Unfortunately, the animators rushed the manga's story too quickly, and when it came time to do a second season, they had to create a new storyline. (In fact, Minekura didn't have anything about Homura in her manga. Just to help promote the anime, she's produced about five pages' worth of manga, very few colour pages, and the cover art for the dvds. That's it.) Even with so many filler episodes, the manga story ends at about episode 22 or so, and for episode 23 onwards, it was Homura's Arc.
The storyline for the first part, based off the manga, was fairly simple. Plenty of mystery surrounding the character's pasts (which are somewhat explained by, in the manga, Gaiden and the Burial Arc), but fairly straight-forward. Homura's Arc is extremely simple, with no plot-twists at all. For the most part, the events in Gensoumaden Saiyuuki are predictable, that's how simple they are. Nothing really "deep" with this anime. The good thing about it is that it's simple enough to keep the interest of less intelectually-oriented audiences, as well as people who like complex things, but appreciative of simple things. However, iif you like more story-driven anime, with good plots and characters, then this probably isn't a good anime for you to watch, considering it's more or less road-trip.
Of the filler episodes, I remeber liking the episode with the alcohol and the evil monkeys. :/ The last scene with Sanzo smiling made me want to cry though, that's how terrible he looked.
Of the regular episodes, I recommend seeing episode 4. Seeing Kouryuu scare off that bear = priceless. Besides, I like the episodes where they go through the characters' pasts.
-----------------------------------
Voice Acting: Japanese - 10/10, English - 4/10
The Japanese voice actors are extremly good, as the people chosen to do the main characters are very famous voice actors:

Sanzo - Seki Toshihiko (FF: U's Cid; Gundam W's Duo Maxwell, etc.)
Goku - Hoshi Souichirou (Sukisyo's Sunao/Ran; Gundam Seed's Kira Yamato, etc.)
Gojyo - Hiroaki Hirata (the only one I can think of at the moment is Pirates of the Carribean's Jack Sparrow)
Hakkai - Ishida Akira (DNAngel's Hiwatari Satoshi... funny how I can't think of anymore at this moment; he's the most famous out of all the voice actors for this anime, I think)
Kougaiji - Kusao Takeshi (DNAngel's Krad...)[/list:u]I can't say the same for the American voice actors... I've never heard of any of them prior to Saiyuuki, and the only one I remember is Greg Ayres, who does Goku (IMO, I don't think he suits Goku's character too well). I watched less than one episode in English, and, quite honestly, you must be insane to prefer the English version over the Japanese. That, or you just don't care about the voice acting, so long as you just get to hear it in English. <<;
Some people prefer the English so they can watch without having to read subtitling, but I say that's complete bull. It's not hard to read a subtitle while watching the anime (yay for peripheral vision) and even if your peripheral isn't that good, it's not that hard to read it and then flick your eyes back to the main part of the screen.
I guess that's fine, if you want to hear it in English, but just for Saiyuuki, do make an effort to watch it in Japanese. The English voice acting (and the line translations) are absolutely atrocious. The only thing going for it is that the characters aren't entirely monotonous.
-----------------------------------
Okay, I think I'm done now. ^^;
EDIT: I mean manga. Saiyuki is my favourite manga. Not anime. Definitely not anime. ;_; (I wish I could like it enough for it to be my favourite anime, but it sucks too much!) Minekura Kazuya is an excellent artist/author. I recommend Bus Gamer and Stigma. _________________

Ack. I don't watch enough FMA to really rate it. . I just wanted to say really fast (PLEASE don't flog me)
I like Saiyuki (And I think "Tightrope" is a good ending theme, even if the lyrics are a bit weak) It's varied enough to appeal to a fairly wide audience, and the characters always keep me laughing, but it still has enough story to get excited about. |

You propably haven't heard of Saiyuki because it's rather new hear (or at least the part of the U.S. I'm in) I haven't ever watched Ghost in a Shell, though you speak good things of it. i adore Fullmetal. It has a great plot and everything. I'd give it a overall 10/10 (i'm not a fan of rating, if you comment flash on Newgrounds you have to rate) I don't pay a lot of attention to the music, unless it sux. I'd give the art a 9/10, it's pretty good, but you can always improve. Storyline 10/10! The storyline is really original and not as predicable as others.
What are you feelings on Yu Yu Hakusho? |

Lol. Gensoumaden Saiyuuki is actually pretty old. ^^; It never started airing until a little while ago, though.

It ends. I'm thinking there's five major sagas. I do know that there is only 112 esp. There only a few end songs that are actually worth anyone's time, athough some of the tunes in the actual esp. are good.
It might seem like it goes on forever because of the many times the entire thing was started over again.

Where is it airing? Don't tell me its on that anime network. I would love  to get that. |
