Wow You're A Really Good Artist!

Most of the characters draw for fanart's sake of have pretty obscure fanbases (Ray Bradock fans- UNITE *crickets chip* Volt Krueger....? Wolfgang Krauser....? Colossus? Lobo?? *crickets reprise*) So I don't get a huge whack of comments on them. Most of the time I post something I'll get 0-3 comments in the course of a month and I figured that just meant people didn't really care for my style, but then I posted a werewolf doodle and it got 6 comments in a day.

I dunno... I don't mind so much when people leave mindless comments, but that's possibly because I don't have a huge whack of them to sift through in order to get to the meaningful ones. I'm sure if I had to read through "OMG YOU ROCK!" 50 times to find the one thoughtful comment in the bunch I'd probably care more, though.

Plus I've realized that I can probably see a good number of things wrong with my work that other people don't notice anyway (comes from looking through hand drawn animation frame-at-a-time for the one drawing where the character's arm doesn't drag right and the like Razz

) and if I don't see them, the other people in my classes who are in the same boat as me or the profs grading my sketchbooks will likely point them out.

Yes, Lindsay... your comments are very nice to read. I luf them. Makes me feel noticed. I wish there were 50 people like you, Strata, ect. who commented frequently on this site.. then we might not need this thread.

Not even worth reading them. It's pissing when you look in your mailbox and see you got a comment on a pic. You're all happy, got take a look and all you read is "CUTE!!!" or "I Luf it!!11! eleven!!" REALLY pisses me off when I get those. Constructive comments please?

When I comment, I at least try poiting what I liked in the pics and maybe things that should be worked on.
Some didn't really appreciate it but others actually left a comment in my profile thanking me and saying they would try fixing it.

These are nice to get ^_^

And man how aweful it is when you got a person who can't even draw a stick figure alright comes to say a drawing (that looks really good) that you did and are proud of sucks. Got some of these too...
I know it's not in the subject but feels like ranting.
To get back to it. when they do, it's always OR "You suck" "die" or anything like that or the kind of comment that takes 3 hours to read only to be resumed as "I don't like your drawing" <_<

If you are anti-criticism DELETE it, insulting comments? DELETE those insulting comments.

Any comment that pisses you off, delete it..and if you're still pissed off just GET OVER IT...It's just a comment. most of the people are pissed off about a comment?! I wonder what happens if you get flamed Rolling eyes

I have this really good one, but I dont want those comments. I erase them, yeah, but its fustrating because now no one bothers to look at my art. Tomorrow , I will post more. I hope I dont get those comments...

I hate that, too. It's like hi! I like your work and it is good but I am too lazy to give you any critisism.

People if you do say "kawaii" in your comments or give short useless comments, learn and reform to useful comments. I did. When I was a n00b I did the stupid ones, but sheesh everyone has to grow up sometime.

And what about those people who comment the same thing like.. (no offense meant) "that was great *shoves doughnut down your throat*" Can you say ouch! and what about the art itself?

And those idiots who say, "great pic, will you look at my gallery?" You want me to critique your work... and what did you do to my pic? Probably said to yourself, hmmm I need to comment on one of their pics, any one will do, just to get some comments on my own. Jeesh you really liked my art that time....

I also hate how some of the worst artists are on the most favorite lists. Sad

There are some unskilled artists with a crapload of fanart on let's say inu yasha and they are on like 150 fav artist lists while the unpopular artists like myself and others in this thread don't get nearly that amount. X.x

The difference between artists who are not so great and get hundreds of faves and comments and talented artists who don't get that same attention is that the ones with all the comments appeal to fandoms.

If you draw nothing but obscure and original characters, then unless you leave hundreds upon hundreds of comments all over the site, there isn't a huge chance that people will happen across your gallery. And even when they do, they may not care for your art because even if it's really good it isn't of anything that interests him.

That's why I figure I can't complain about the lack of attention my gallery gets, I don't drop comments on every picture I see and I draw art meant to appeal to all.... like... eight fans of characters like Lobo, Volt, and Pegasus.

If you want comments go draw pictures of Inuyasha and Sonic making out or something. Razz
