I love using the wi-fi connection for Mario Kart. Mario Kart has always been a fun multi-player game and putting it on wi-fi was the best thing they could've done.
I bought Animal Crossing for DS but I've played it minimally. I was extremely addicted to the gamecube version but I just haven't had the time to get readdicted to the DS version. XD |

Heh, I was able to log on to Nintendo WFC from the hotspot around our local Radio Shack.
Played a few races (two global, one regional). Had fun, although I did encounter a few rather tougher players than myself.
And let me tell you, playing a videogame out in 50-degree weather (with 30-degree wind chill) not 10 feet from scattered rainshowers (even hail) is quite an experience :woot:

Apparently my local Radio Shack only keeps their hotspot active on weekends or something... but I did get a few more Mario Kart races in tonight.
I still lose more often than not (record: 10-14), but I definitely had fun. You just can't intimidate the CPU, you know? There was one race I tossed a Bob-omb at another player, he saw it and jammed on the brakes to avoid the explosion! I was able to zip right through as the explosion was clearing, and took first place for that track.
I also saw one player use Mushrooms on lap 2 of the Desert Hills track to jump the winding hills. It was a close race, winner takes gold for that GP. On lap 3, I got a Star powerup, so I hit the Star and then jumped all the hills myself, overtaking him in the process. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Yeah, thats always funny. I was in a race a few minutes ago, in which I was in Delfino square. As we arrived at the item boxes just after the choice between either the curving street or the right-angled one, I lobbed a bom-omb and it took a direct hit on donkey kong.
I just zoomed past, collecing another item. It was a power star, and i slipped down the alley into first place. My next item cost me dearly. It was a blue shell, and I figured 'It can't hit me, even though i'm in first!'
HOW WRONG I WAS! BEWARE OF THE SHEELS IN FIRST PLACE! THEY TURN ON THEIR MASTER! ONLY ON WI-FI THOUGH... _________________ I came

I never knew that. But I did keep a Spiny Shell handy for over a lap once (because I had passed the leader just after picking it up).
There was another time I tossed a Spiny shell at two guys drafting each other... this is another thing the CPU wouldn't do, they saw it incoming and scrammed for opposite sides of the track so that whomever was in 2nd wouldn't get caught by the explosion.
I like how in Double Dash, they made the Spiny shells fly and explode (instead of just rolling down the track like a red shell). But I like even more, how in Mario Kart DS the Spiny Shells do a quick circle about the victim's head before crashing down.
I also notice the Red Shells are a lot tougher to block in DS than Double Dash. In Double Dash, when you saw the warning icon for an incoming red you could drop a banana, shell, etc., and be pretty much guaranteed to block it... here in DS the Red Shells tend to hit you at an angle rather than straight on, a lot tougher to block that way.
I also like how in DS, you can play Battle mode against the CPU. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Same. That would be awesome in online. On DS, to avoid spiny shells all you have to do is hit a banana or something when it's spinning above you. _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. This message brought to you by Marlboro.

I'm confused. The WiFi is awesome, why would anyone hate it? That's like saying "Who hates cookies?" _________________

Depends on the cookie really, surely it does. I'm allergic to nuts, so a lot of cookies are a definite no-no anyway! _________________ [b]Many things exist, but not all are visible within our realm of comprehension. Writing lets us break through the barriers!
