I personally don't care for it.
I've watched a couple of episodes and I've decided it has bad artwork and the dubbing is horrible.
The cases are obvious and easy to solve long before Conan does. It makes me laugh at how dumb the detectives are.

it's been around. Last April they had just released a movie in the theatres in Japan n.n it looked cool

Our teacher introduced the show to us Junior year (about 2 and a half years ago)
but that was my first Japanese class and there were no subtitles @.@ and people kept talking so I wasn't interested.

but I like it! I love mystery shows, etc like that and it's pretty fun n.n

I love this show! I have seen about every episode that has been on Adult Swim. I'm actully learning from it. At first I really had no clue who the killers were but now I either figure them out half-way through or towards the begining abit after the murders. I can't wait for the first DVD to come out in August. I love Case Closed/Detective Conan.

:wacko: Dumb? Maybe if u r the detective, it wouldn't be so easy. <_< Crappy art work? Well, that is FUNimation (or watever the company name is) did. I've read the 44 volum of Detective Conan (the manga) and the art work isn't crappy as the Tv shows. . . . .

Funimation company changed a lot of stuff, like the songs into weird ones , names, and stuff... *muttering angrily* ... <_< ...

The whole series (not yet finished... ) is very very interested, especially volum 8, 16, 18, 25,26, 36, etc. Along the mystery cases, another main case lying under. ^_^

It took me a while to figure outcase closed and Meitantei Conan were the same. Damn Dubber people. <_< I did some research when I saw it on some website....So if I knew that I would got to actually watch it sooner! Rolling eyes

There are currently 46 volumes of Detective Conan available for purchase in japan or from import.

yeah i know but i think they should make a surprise episode where no one dies! and it just follows conan through his boring life. on second thought that wouldn't be much fun. but it would be kinda funny for a couple of minutes

I saw two episodes while in Japan (a two-parter one after the other)

It was about a kidnapping rather than a murder.

oh...wait.. but one of the badguys died. lol n.n almost. almost there....

I'd like to point out right now..that animer is MUCH easier to find/watch/buy in america. I saw maybe 2 animes on TV during my entire 16 days there, and only ONE store that had anime stuffs (the Shounen Jump set up in the Aqua City mall in Tokyo)

so yeah, if you guys want to go to Japan solely for anime purposes, save money on the flight ticket and use Ebay lol

n.n lots of fun though!

i want to go to japan, not really for anime purposes. because they have a interesting history. it's alot better than america's. i wanna go check out some of the museums and food! it's hard to find good japanese food where i live.

Uh, apparently I'm the only one who thinks the name "Detective Conan" is kind of...stupid. Sounds like a little kid show along the lines of Dora the Explorer and Madeline vs a murder mystery where people die every episode.

But then that's just me.

but I don't reccomend any Hakubuttsukan (museums) You best bet is temples and shrines n.n they're gorgeous (inside and out) and have a lot more meaning/spirituality than museums, but just as much history.

I'd like to point out (before anyone gets the wrong idea) that I did not, in any way, go to Japan to do/buy/watch/etc anything with anime.
I just got back today and had like 3 e-mails asking "what new animes" did I see and what mangas did I buy, etc etc.
So I wanted to point out that if you go to Japan, it shouldn't be for anime n.n lol

i originally wanted to go in the spring to see the cherry blossums but that would kinda make me feel more like a tourist. so i'll probely go in the summer or like autumn. i don't like feeling like a tourist. so i guess i'll just have to plant my own little cherry tree grove
