When you mentioned the front hinge, I notice you're using smooth hignes. You should use the knobby type, they adjust in clicks and can hold their position better. And you'll need a brace to hold it in the open position.

As for me, this is not much, but proof that, yes, you can build virtually anything out of LEGO blocks:

20 pieces. And it went through quite a few revisions -- one earlier version of it actually allowed you to put the lid up.

lol what's it cost?

As for the locking hinges I was having absolutely no luck getting any of them to line up correctly, I tried everything. I ended up giving up and just attaching it at the cowel bringing the entire hood unit 2/3 brick higher than it is supposed to be. The problem is it has to hinge twice in order to clear the bumper but there are no ways to do a double hinge in the amount of space I have to work with.

*EDIT*

I ever get board and decide to build a big RV....I'm putting a toilet in it just like that one. Very Happy

You know, one of my greatest wish when I was a kid that they would make lego people bigger, the same proportions but just twice as big in all dimensions, (8 times bigger in volume) so all the things I made with legos that took a lot of legos to make were actually proportional to the people using it.

you know the little hook that comes with people's hands? for bigger lego people, you could actually give them all five fingers.

Bionicles aren't humans, they look like anorexic transformers.

That was my thought exactly, I never liked the Bionicle sets.

The only thing I would have changed from what you where saying about the scaled up regular lego guys was some knees and elbows....

Nah, they'd all look like raggedy ann dolls if they had more joints, since it would collapse under the weight constantly.

That's an interesting take on the matter. As for me, a few weeks ago I did find out how to summarize LEGO Bionicle: "LEGO action figures". They're not "sets", they're "figures".

As for minifigure scale, that's the thing about LEGO is that it's not always to scale but it doesn't absolutely matter, either. By any chance have you seen the Technic men? They were about 3-4x the height of the standard LEGO minifigure and actually to scale with some of the Technic sets at the time. Better articulated, too.

Another project I sort of half finished, did some tweaking on last night:

Yes, two of Ammy's reflector weapons. (The other three are going to be an absolute PAIN)

The loose connectors are actually used to connect Snarling Beast's ring to its centerpiece, but LDD doesn't recognize that. (It'll work using actual bricks though.)

It'd be better if they marketed that way.

Bionicles, eating disorder in disguise.
