no seriously, horses used to be cool, with knights and cowboys and such, but now it's too much a girl thing. Pretty horses that are being groomed and the lame horseriding outfits and so on.
I'm afraid I can't agree with you on that one Lexar I rode for almost 7 years and loved every minute of it Except for a few really bad accidents it was so fun. I started when I was around six I think. I quit in 7th grade though after my worst accident scared me to bad to even make my horse canter (its like the pace before a gallop or full speed run)
Lets see I have been bitten, thrown, dragged, stepped on,kicked the works lol. Horses can be very dangerous, seems like people don't notice now a days that horse back riding is one of the most dangerous sports, Its pretty high up there on the list. But lets see what was my worst accident. I think it had to be my last accident. I remember I was in the indoor arena during winter or something and I was with my riding partner and my instructor was making us do laps around the arena i think in two-point position (thats how the jockeys ride the horses during races) and I was riding "my" horse spotless (the one i usually ride the most) and another horse was being led by at the same time we passed and he spooked him. He took off in a full gallop and threw me off balance so bad that i was clinging to the side of the saddle. I was holding on until he ran by some metal folding poles that u use to make horse stalls on the go during shows. I let go and just missed the poles but landed on my neck.
They though I broke my neck at first and called the ambulence because i couldn't get up then I tried to stand. They though i was ok but turns out i bruised my tail bone, not lemme tell you THAT hurts like a bitch, especially when they made me get right back on him <_< anyways enough about the horse rambling _________________ I'm just a simple MEGGY MAE. |

I like horses. Their okay. I had went about two weeks ago to my older brothers Kings Fair. We got to see "Thor" The biggest Horse in the U.S.A for the normal horses. I used to ride them when I was 6 or 7, but then the horse place I would ride them every weekend had to close down. And I never got to see my horse Nugget again... _________________ "Don't Worry, Just Because I Don't Talk to You, Doesn't mean I Hate You!"

I don't know, most of the riders at my sis's barn have fallen off many times...
We had to put three down in the last two weeks. They are dropping like flies, soon all the school horses will be dead!
Bruising your tailbone does hurt. A LOT. My sister has bruised it three times in the past two months. She also almost got trampeled, her horse got spooked and thus went into a kicking frenzy, she fell off and he almost stepped on her. She's still trying to make those bruises go away...

Funny, I don't ride anymore, and that STILL seems to happen to me ^_^ The horses try to eat me, literally, one was licking my shirt, face hair, everything. I avoid that horse now.
Chesire must have been a very good rider, but why did you stop?
I USED to ride, when I was 5 or 6, but thus I was a fickle child, and stopped later. Tried a while ago, didn't like it. They told me I had a prefect position....UNTIL the horse started to move. But I still visit Sushi every now and then. _________________ If I was anymore hardcore, I'd be arrested. |

yeah when I listed what has happened to me I didn't really expect people to be "omg thats horrible" or discourage future riders. haha to be honest I didn't even mind it half the time, you get used to getting bit or stepped on here and there and the occasional getting kicked. NOW THAT hurts, been kicked in the ribs before by a cold blood (there are three different kinds of horses, warm blood are like regular and average sized horses, hot bloods are like arabians and thoroudhbreds sorry can't spell for s**t right now, cold bloods are like draft horses and the big belgiums like working horses.) but anyways yeah brusing your tailbone does hurt pretty bad, especially if you had to ride the horse AFTER you did it. I mean its not pure agony but i don't think you can say it doesn't hurt unless you have had it happen to you.
I quit horse back riding because my last accident spooked me to bad, I didn't have that fearless extra drive that made me want to get better and stuff. I do regret quitting now though I would do anything to have gone back and never quit, sad thing was that same year that i quit, I was suppossed to lease my own horse on my 13th birthday. DAMN IT ALL haha _________________ I'm just a simple MEGGY MAE. |

Yeah, kicking hurts the most, Arabians seem to just LOVE to kick me, so I have devoleped a thing to stay away from them..... Used to being stepped on, and bit, but it's not like I do enjoy it.. <_< Arabs hate me, so i've been bitten, stepped on, and kicked at least twenty times in one day by a certian Arabian... God, they hate me, not like I'm wuite fond of them either...
Yeah, I know the whole warmblood and coldblood s**t. I hate spelling out the word thouroughbread.....(Sp?) it's so fricken' annoying...
The tailbone thing? God it hurts....A horse kicked me in my tailbone, and I wasn't even riding it! Then I had to go skate afterwards and kept falling on my flips which just made it hurt worse. My coach got mad at me for getting hurt, but ended up just doing light stuff in the end.
Too bad you quit... It is fun, but it can be a hassle sometimes..(Well, it was for me, but i was like 5 or 6...) And you quit before you leased your horse... My sister has to gie up her (half)lease for a different horse becasue the other girl backed out after like a year so now she has to find a different one becasue it's too expensive.
You probably would of been a really good rider if you kept going, if not, at least a pretty one _________________ If I was anymore hardcore, I'd be arrested. |
