What you've heard is the original. There's an alternate set of lyrics on UYI II.

I like the orginal version of Don't Cry better. I can play this version in my head and it just isn't as good as the orginal (the fact that I'm playing it in my head aside.) Its nice though. Its a bit more emotional than the orginal and there's probably more truth in this one for Axl than in the orginal.

Who is the better man? Although this question has been done to death and the answer is pretty obvious. Its pretty free-ranged. Technical talent, stage presence, additude, and just who was more fun to be with. Make sure to give your reasons and for the love all things good and rock unholy...no more f*ckin' shout outs. I really like the third verse of the alternate lyrics melody-wise, but the original lyrics are overall better.

Izzy takes the cake. Gilby is a great guitarist and patient as hell to join the band knowing how volatile everyone was, but no one takes the place of Izzy. Hell, no one takes the place of Steven, even Matt. They all contributed to what made Gn'R Gn'R, Izzy more so because he did so much writing. His solo albums prove he was capable of playing lead, but he was a great rhythm guitarist as well. His look was much more the laid back, sunglasses and cigarette, "I don't give a f**k" personality, where Gilby brought a bit more of the Aerosmith-glam to it. Scarves n' colors and eyeliner. I think, given the company, Izzy's look worked better. Even in the early glam days, he was extremely plain.

Okay, sex reviews aside (it gives Izzy an unfair edge, methinks) Izzy is still a better back up guitarist than Gilby. And this is just basing it on their solo albums. I just find Izzy's vocals more enjoyable than Gilby and the guitar playing is better on both 117 Degrees and the JuJu Hounds albums are just better than Pawn Shop Guitars in terms of the song lyrics and the talent of the other band members.

Did Axl ever take out ? Laughing

You know its people like that who keep Axl out of the music business (and the gay fitness gyms.)

Plus Izzy is known to be the best lay out of all the members so when he's up against Axl and Slash thats a lot to say. Rolling eyes

I find it so funny how rock artists can perform butt ass naked and yet not too long ago Jim Morrison was arrested just for threatening to take his wang out. Rock stars don't know how good they have it now. Smile

Well, sorta. That's probably the worst of his mug shots. The other well known one is rather flattering, considering the circumstances.

And that picture of Nikki is great. There's two of him reading Anne Rice books. Also a funny picture of Brent Muscat reading a cookbook, but I'm too lazy to dig it up. And he was never in Gn'R, so it doesn't count. Although he did tour with Steven in Adler's Appetite.

Anyways, I think Axl would actually look better now if he didn't get the braids. They're just so random. But I think to try and figure out the origins of the infamous braids would just be a waste of time and Tylonal.

In the sake of starting a discussion (and this has probably already been done before) do you want to try and figure out what the Estranged video is about? I know the whole video is Axl in a very complicated nutshell and I was watching it a few times today trying to figure it out. Nothing really came up. So any ideas. I have a few but I don't think they really have much to do with the whole concept of the video besides what you've told me already.

I just confused myself from that last paragraph. I think I'm going to get some of that Tylonal now. :wacko:
