Ooh! I have to add Slave Laura by Samantha 7! It's so very me. And there's a kinda funny story behind its inspiration that I'll share because I have nothing better to do. C.C. was dating this chick who happened to be a dominatrix but had no idea until he called her and got her "business" line.
Anyway, the song:
She's got crazy legs/ hair down to her waist/ slave laura where are you/ her private line is busy all the time/ slave laura where are you/ anything can happen she says/ you can tie me up, you can tie me down/ anything can happen she says/ your wish is my command/ two weeks' pay for one more day/ slave laura where are you/ you could be my bloody valentine/ slave laura where are you/ she's got leather whips and ruby lips, lunatics on power trips/ slave laura where are you.

Over ~across the time~, when I am emotional
Valenti, when I feel outgoing and pasionate and ful of energy
Tokyo Nights, same as Valenti
Colors
Double, for both of these when I am talking about heartbreak
Crazy 4 U: pretty self explanitory
Aaliyah - I Don't wanna: When I can't do things without people I love
All I Need: when I need love
Don't Know what to tell ya! : when I feel trapped
and so many others

the first one (from my previous post) was "Somebody told Me but I didn't believe them" by Strong Bad.
The other two are:
"Shinjitsu no Uta" by Do As Infinity (DAI) I loooooooove this band n.n they've been one of my favs for years
and then
"Caught in the Rain" by Revis n.n a pretty new band that I like a lot (they're so awesome!! but no one in California has heard of them o.o,,,,,) or "Seven" by the same band n.n;; can't decide |

I got to name a few, like, 5-10 choices, yeah yeah, just shut up and read em
Billy Squier - Stroke (f**king great for cruising when in a good mood)
Billy idol - Rebel Yell (Great for when your thinking about surprising a guy and straddling him)
Metallica - Master of pupperts/enter Sandman (No need to even explain these two )
Fiona Apple - Fast As You Can (when you have lots of wild and crazy emotions, and you just want to sing fast and lose your breathe, and yet, it makes utter since to me.)
Korn - Did my time (maybe, pent up feelings towards family members? hmm, good for release)
Orgy - Stichtes (when i have a lot of pent up energy, but it's 3am and everyone is asleep) |

I used to have an afinity for "Lonely You" by Badfinger. Weird thing is it wasn't my favorite song or anything...I think it had the first lyrics I ever understood, and they suited a good deal of my life so far.
When I look into your tearful eyes
I don't know what to do
And though you say that I don't realize
I sympathize with you
Lonely you, only you
Yes I do
Lonely you, only you
Lonely you
When I ask you just to be my friend
I want to lend a hand
But if we get too close, it's sure to end
Oh, can't you understand?
Lonely you, only you
Yes it will
Lonely you, only you
Lonely you
We really need a friend
And friends are hard to find
And harder still to keep
Lonely you
Lonely me
[guitar solo (Pete Ham)]
Lonely you, only you
Yes it will
Lonely you, only you
Lonely you
Lonely you
Lonely you.
It always made me realy sad, and I always related to it even when I was realy young and didn't understand romantic relationships yet.
My highschool songs would be 'Mayonase' by the Smashing Pumpkins.
Fool enough to almost be it
Cool enough to not quite see it
Doomed
Pick your pockets full of sorrow
And run away with me tomorrow
June
We'll try and ease the pain
But somehow we'll feel the same
Well, no one knows
Where our secrets go
I send a heart to all my dearies
When your life is so, so dreary
Dream
I'm rumored to the straight and narrow
While the harlots of my perils
Scream
And I fail
But when I can, I will
Try to understand
That when I can, I will
Mother weep the years I'm missing
All our time can't be given
Back
Shut my mouth and strike the demons
That cursed you and your reasons
Out of hand and out of season
Out of love and out of feeling
So bad
When I can, I will
Words defy the plan
When I can, I will
Fool enough to almost be it
And cool enough to not quite see it
And old enough to always feel this
Always old, I'll always feel this
No more promise no more sorrow
No longer will I follow
Can anybody hear me
I just want to be me
When I can, I will
Try to understand
That when I can, I will
That song realy spoke to me. I can realy relate to Billy and his lyrics were pretty close to identical to what I was fealing and thinking. Heh...I wrote on my scetch book a quote from it..."When I can, I will" Dad got a laugh out of that. He thought it was my new motto concerning school and chores. lol NOT what the lyric was about at all. ^^;
Another highschool one would be this one Matalica song. I can't remember the name of it now. I'm so angry at those sell outs that I can't listen to any of their music anymore. -_-
And yet another would be this one song by Badfinger... 'Meanwhile Back at the Ranch, Should I Smoke?'
Why do you think me so hard to get?
Is there something they might regret?
Is it better to just forget, just forget?
If they only would let us know
Then we'd know just how far to go
But instead they just tell us "no", tell us "no"
You, you always played the fool (you always played the fool)
You always break the rule
At every single school you know (you always break the rule)
It always pulled you down
They could always pull you down
You, you never stayed the same (you never stayed the same)
And now you take the blame
For all the little games they play (you always take the blame)
And let it bring you down
Why'd you let it bring you down?
[guitar solo (Pete Ham)]
Why do you think me so hard to get?
Is there something they might regret?
Is it better to just forget, just forget?
If they only would let us know
Then we'd know just how far to go
But instead they just tell us "no", tell us "no"
You, you never stayed the same (you never stayed the same)
And now you take the blame
For all the little games they play (you always take the blame)
And let it bring you down
Why'd you let it bring you down?
[refrain, I think?]
Should I smoke or should I die?
Somebody must tell me why
Should I laugh, should I cry
Won't somebody help me?
Don't know what to say
You're makin' me better
I've learned how to pray
Change in the weather today
Don't know what to do
Just makes it hard to lose
The day passes by
Nobody listens
And nobody cries
For anyone's mission today
Don't know what to do
Just makes it hard to choose
OK...that's not perfectly acurate, but close enough. The lyrics site I was looking at was stupid and seperated the two parts into seperate songs, wich messed it up a bit. -_-
It's one of their trade mark 'epic' songs. Incredibly profound. And it still aplies to me. It always has, and it probably always will. Note that the last part of the song sounds rather bitter at least to me when I listen to it.
My curent one would be another Badfinger song 'Gotta Get Out of Here'
Gotta get outta here
A man who feels the space begins to need the wall
Gotta be others near
Maybe someone fills the space behind the fault
Maybe not at all
Maybe not at all
Baby, a man gets wise
To running 'round in circles
He ain't got no choice
Only the fool survives
Running 'round in circles
Trying to make some noise
Got no choice
He's got no choice
Well, I learned to live without face
Learned to feed my soul
I can learn the chords to right place
Hang onto my own
[keyboard solo]
I gotta find a place
See and dream
Who knows which way the dice will fall
I got a mind to face
But maybe I can find my place behind the wall
Maybe not at all
Maybe not at all
Well, I gotta get out of here
Gotta be others near
I gotta find a place
Somewhere without a race
I gotta know it all
Don't wanna be alone
Somewhere I wanna be
Something I really see
Gotta get out of here
Gotta get out of here
Gotta get out of here.
Their lyrics are some of the most cerebral I've ever heard.
And Pearl Jam's 'Corderoy' is another big one for me.
the waiting drove me mad...you're finally here and i'm a mess
i take your entrance back...can't let you roam inside my head
i don't want to take what you can give...
i would rather starve than eat your bread...
i would rather run but i can't walk...
guess i'll lie alone just like before...
i'll take the varmint's path...oh, and i must refuse your test
a-push me and i will resist...this behavior's not unique
i don't want to hear from those who know...
they can buy, but can't put on my clothes...
i don't want to limp for them to walk...
never would have known of me before...
i don't want to be held in your debt...
i'll pay it off in blood, let i be wed...
i'm already cut up and half dead...
i'll end up alone like i began...
everything has chains...absolutely nothing's changed
"take my hand, not my picture," spilled my teacher (spilled my tincture)
i don't want to take what you can give...
i would rather starve than eat your breast...
all the things that others want for me...
can't buy what i want because it's free...
can't buy what i want because it's free...
can't be what you want because i'm...
why ain't it sposed to be just fun
oh, to live and die, let it be done
i figure i'll be damned, all alone like i began...
it's your move now...
i thought you were a friend, but i guess i, i guess i hate you..
A lot can be understood about a person from what lyrics they like. I think these all give the broadest description posible without me posting a song for every moment in my life. Hmmmm...I'm just an angsty rebel who holds grudges I guess...0_o
Sorry this post is so long! ^^;;

Wow, that is one massive post. Listening to "The Spaghetti Incident?" (yes, I like that CD, shut up and listen to AFD if you don't), I have another to add:
"Buick Mackane" - cover by Guns n' Roses
Tell me this doesn't apply to me perfectly:
Buick, Buick, Buick Mackane will ya
Buick Mackane will ya be my girl
Be my girl
Rainy Lady, queen of the rock will ya
Queen of the rock will ya help me roll
Help me roll
Slider, Slider, you're just a sexual glider
You're just a sexual glider
Be my plane
In the rain
Buick, Buick, Buick Mackane will ya
Buick Mackane will ya be my girl
Be my girl
I said I-- know what to do
I'm gonna f*** f*** f***, f*** you f*** you
I said I-- know what to do
I'm gonna f*** f*** f***, f*** you f*** you
I said I-- know what to do
I'm gonna f*** f*** f***, f*** you f*** you _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
